Katie Lee Biegel: “It’s A Good Reminder For You Guys To Watch”
GettyBiegel took to Instagram stories to explain her injury on March 18, showing her finger wrapped in a paper towel and ice.
“In all my years of cooking, I have never cut myself,” she said.
“I sliced through my fingernail, like, cut my fingernail off, basically, while filming a new episode of ‘It’s Not Complicated.'”
“So lovely. But it’s a good reminder for you to watch,” she joked.
Biegel later posted a selfie with her bandaged nail to her stories. She captioned the photo, “One day, I’ll have a fingernail again…”
She was back in high spirits in a March 19 story as she updated fans on her injury.
“I will live. I will survive,” she joked.
“But I’m definitely going to take the sympathy between now and when it gets better.”
Biegel’s injury was not mentioned on the latest episode of “It’s Not Complicated,” which aired on March 17. Ironically, she did recount a story of an accident that occured on the set of “The Early Show.”
“Harry Smith was the anchor, he loved to cook, and he was using the mandolin,” she reminisced, while using the slicing implement herself onscreen.
“[He] sliced the top of his finger off during our segment.”
Biegel recalled that Smith was “such a pro.”
“He just exited, and Erica Hill stepped right in, and we kept making the salad.”
“It’s Not Complicated” Reveals Biegel’s Cooking Secrets
Katie Lee Biegel launched her YouTube cooking series on February 17, following an announcement on Instagram.
Before launching the series, she wrote, “I’m so excited to invite you into our home. [Husband, Ryan Biegel] @ryanbiegel filmed me, along with the help of a few of our friends.”
Biegel began filming “It’s Not Complicated” after her Food Network show “The Kitchen” was canceled after 40 seasons.
“After ‘The Kitchen,’ I was not sure what would be next in my career, and I am so excited for this next chapter,” Biegel shared in an Instagram post when the YouTube series launched.
“I truly appreciate all of your support over the years and I hope you love this show! Let me know what you want to see more (or less) of, as we are filming more.”
On March 6, TVInsider revealed the cast of “The Kitchen” will reunite for a one-time special.
During the March 5 episode of podcast “All On The Table,” Biegel’s co-star Jeff Mauro stated, “Yeah, we’re filming a special episode of ‘The Kitchen.’ It’ll be on the air.”
