Cameron Mathison Celebrates Son Lucas on His 23rd Birthday
“Watching you grow hasn’t just meant watching you succeed — it’s meant watching you become,” the doting father said. “Every obstacle you faced, every challenge you pushed through, every bet you placed on yourself paid off. Studying at Central Saint Martins in London, chasing the dream you never let go of… I couldn’t be more proud.”
“But even more than what you’ve built on the outside, it’s who you are on the inside that leaves me in awe,” the actor continued. “Happy Birthday to my son — the one who proves every single day that character and resilience are everything. I love you more than words. 🖤.”
Within his photos, the former Hallmark actor shared images of Lucas from when he was a baby all the way up to age 23. Cameron also included photos of Lucas with his sister, Leila, 19.
To top his tribute off — the actor set the post to the tune of “Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)” by John Lennon.
Cameron welcomed both Lucas and Leila with his ex-wife of 22 years, Vanessa Mathison, who celebrated her 59th birthday the day before the former couple’s son’s birthday.

Cameron and Vanessa announced their decision to separate in 2024. That same year, the Great American Family actor and his two kids showed off matching tattoos — a proud moment he boasted about on Instagram just one month after he and Vanessa announced their split.
In the caption of his post, featuring the trio’s matching tattoo, Cameron included a quote from Ann Landers that he dedicated to his kids. The quote reads as follows: “It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings.”
