Hallmark Star Andrew Walker Shares Tips for Americans Visiting Canada — Are Montreal’s Bagels Better than New York’s?

If Andrew Walker is one of your favorite Hallmark stars, then you might know that you can watch him in “Kentucky Roses” with Odette Annable. You may also be aware of the fact that along with being an accomplished actor, he’s a film producer. Perhaps you could have told other fans that he and his wife eloped so they could start a juice company called Little West, which is named after one of their sons. But did you know that he’s Canadian?

Indeed, Walker was born on June 9, 1979, in Montreal, Quebec. That’s why he’s surely fully qualified to offer his fans a few tips that Americans should know when they visit his home country.

Andrew’s Tips Include What to Wear & What to Eat

Sitting down to talk to fans via a Decider.com Instagram post, Walker started by saying, “Alright, Americans out there coming to Canada. Welcome, eh?”

From there, Walker went over his tips, saying:

1. “Little do people know, but it’s dry up in Canada. So you want to bring hydration. Usually I hydrate with maple syrup, but you can bring water, too.”

2. “You want to bring layers [of clothes] because you never know [what the weather will be like] in the fall or spring mainly — summer it gets warm. It does get warm in Canada, we aren’t strictly a cold country.”

3. “What you are going to bring back to America with you? Well, you’re going to bring back maple syrup. You’re going to bring back rotisserie chicken.”

4. “You are going to try a slice of pizza when you go to Montreal. And, yes, it’s better than New York’s.”

5. “You’re going to have a bagel in Montreal, which, yes, is better than New York’s as well. You’re going to go to St. Viateur.”

Fans definitely appreciated Walker’s tips, with one person leaving a comment, saying, “Thank you Andrew very helpful and interesting my dear. Can’t wait to visit. Lookin forward to your new movie. ❤️🌹”

“Those Canadian bagels and pizza must be pretty darn good to be better than NY ones! I must come and try them for myself! ❤️😊,” another person added.

A third social media user wrote, “Thanks Andrew making my trip next year!!”

“My Dad’s family was from Canada, and we spent every Summer vacation there when I was young. We’re about 90 minutes from the border and when we go over, we bring back peameal bacon. And Aero bars,” came from another fan.

Someone else left a comment, writing, “Thank you Andrew! I am planning a trip to Canada and those are great tips! My mother’s side of the family are originally from France and then migrated Quebec, so I am a Minnesotan of French Canadian ancestry and have always wanted to visit that part of Canada and maybe find some distant relatives who live there.”
