Andrew Walker and Odette Annable are giving fans a closer look at Hallmark‘s upcoming film “Kentucky Roses.”
In a behind-the-scenes video featuring a playful introduction from the two stars, Annable takes viewers on set, offering a glimpse into the iconic spring wardrobe that brings the film to life. She also shares a fun tidbit about one Kentucky Derby staple that people may not know about.
“Kentucky Roses” was shot on location at the iconic Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby, according to the official Churchill Downs website. The film stars Walker and Annable alongside Ally Ledford, Peyton Meyer, Brynn Thayer, and Gregg Henry, and celebrates “the pageantry, tradition, and enduring spirit of the Kentucky Derby.”
Annable Takes Fans Inside the Wardrobe Trailer for ‘Kentucky Roses’
“Nice hat, Odette,” Walker told his “Kentucky Roses” co-star.
Annable replied, “Thanks, Andrew. It’s actually a fascinator.”
“How fascinating,” Walker said with a grin.
“The Kentucky Derby, it’s a time where anything goes. And you can really, really dress as an individual, and own who you are through the fashion,” Annable went on to explain over clips from the upcoming film that feature audience members dressed to the nines. “It’s stunning.”
In the next clip, Annable takes fans behind-the-scenes in their wardrobe trailer to show off the various accessories for the film. “I love just how creative you can get with these pieces,” she said as she held up one of the floral hats. “They’re an homage to the 1930s. Some are more modern.”
“They call them a fascinator. I learned this because you get to fasten accessories onto them,” Annable continued while putting on one of the hats. “This would’ve been kind of cute, right?”

The film will be premiering on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, May 2 at 8 p.m. ET, the same day as the 2026 Kentucky Derby, which is famously held the first Saturday in May every year at Churchill Downs.
