Hallmark actress Jane Seymour has penned a heartfelt tribute to Robert Carradine following his death, which was announced on Monday, February 23. He was 71.

Carradine was beloved for his roles in “Lizzie McGuire” and “Revenge of the Nerds,” but he also appeared in the 1984 film “The Sun Also Rises” alongside Seymour. Taking to Instagram on February 24, the actress posted two throwback photos from their time together. The first is a black-and-white photo of them in character, and the other is a color snap. In the photos, they are both so young, but in the caption, it is like no time has passed at all, as Seymour reflects on the experience of working with Carradine and the beautiful person that he was.
“I have such fond memories of working with Bobby Carradine on The Sun Also Rises,” she began her tribute. “He brought such warmth and sincerity to his work, and there was a gentleness about him that made every shared moment feel easy and genuine. It is always hard to say goodbye to someone who was part of an important chapter in your life. My heart goes out to his family and to everyone who loved him. He will be remembered with great affection.”

Carradine’s family announced his death in an emotional statement. “It is with profound sadness that we must share that our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and brother Robert Carradine has passed away,” the statement reads, Deadline reports.
It continues, “In a world that can feel so dark, Bobby was always a beacon on light to everyone around him. We are bereft at the loss of this beautiful soul and want to acknowledge Bobby’s valiant struggle against his nearly two-decade battle with Bipolar Disorder. We hope his journey can shine a light and encourage addressing the stigma that attaches to mental illness. At this time, we ask for the privacy to grieve this unfathomable loss. With gratitude for your understanding and compassion.”
