Kimberley Sustad Reveals a History of Christmas Mishaps

The holidays are a special time of the year for many. Many people are eager to put up their lights and figurines as soon as Halloween ends, while others dutifully wait until after Thanksgiving. Others, like Hallmark star Lacey Chabert, unabashedly begin decorating for Christmas before Halloween has even finished.

But others have a love-hate relationship with the holiday. In the new Hallmark film, “Merry Christmas, Ted Cooper!Robert Buckley plays a weatherman who LOVES Christmas but has had a string of terrible Christmases. In the trailer, we see two incidents: one in which he gets knocked over by a Christmas tree, and another in which he falls off a ladder while hanging decorations.

Co-star Kimberley Sustad may be closer to the character of Ted in real life, revealing to Just Jared that her family has “had the fire department called on three separate occasions.”

“It would take forever to go through what each of those circumstances are, but like Ted Cooper, multiple hospital visits. And let’s just say, I pass out at the sight of blood,” the “Three Wise Men and a Baby” star admitted.

Despite her admission that it would take “forever” to go through them all, she did describe one memorable Christmas.

“My great aunt sort of slipped and lightly dinged her head on the radiator one year, but it kind of opened up her head, and her hair is just white,” she continued. “And I was the first one to come around the corner, and I was like, ‘Ahhh.’ And then boom, immediate lights out. So then everybody’s just seeing my aunt with red everywhere, and me: dead on the floor. Her: kind of out of it, not really sure what’s happening. Fire department called, ambulance arrives, you name it. That was Christmas Eve.”

Robert Buckley Shares the Reason His Family Celebrates Thanksgiving a Week Early

Robert Buckley admitted that “no one was topping” Kimberley’s story. Instead, he explained what led his family to celebrate Thanksgiving a full week before everyone else in the country.

“Our first Thanksgiving after our son was born, and we were getting zero sleep, we genuinely mistook which week Thanksgiving was,” he explained. “And we did our whole Thanksgiving dinner and then realized the day of that we were a whole week early. So we have now just kept the tradition that every [year] we just celebrate the Thursday before Thanksgiving.”

  1. First Christmas Eve in our new home and the sewer backs up. Not a great Christmas smell wafting through the house. No plumber would come out. Had to go rent a snake to do it ourselves. Needless to say that’s been the worst experience to deal with on Christmas hosting the family and not being able to use the bathroom.

    • I think your Christmas “memory” is probably one of the worst I’ve heard (the worst being the unexpected death of a young dad on that day). I’m surprised you could not get a plumber to come out… do you have any idea the premium they get paid to go out on Holidays! Good luck this Holiday Season.
