The hit Hallmark show “The Way Home” is ending with Season 4. Ahead of the premiere of the final season of “The Way Home” star Sadie Laflamme-Snow revealed a way to keep the Laundry legacy alive.
Sadie Laflamme-Snow’s Idea for ‘The Way Home’ Spin-Off
In an interview with Us Weekly, Snow opened up about saying goodbye to “The Way Home” after four seasons. One of the things Snow mentioned was an idea for a spin-off of the hit Hallmark show that involves a fan-favorite couple.
Snow feels like a spin-off focused on her character, Alice, and Nick, played by Samuel Braun, back in the 1999 era, has potential.
“I feel like people — myself included — are very drawn to the Nick and Alice storyline, I’m not suggesting something crazy with the age difference. But I feel like back to the 90s — that first summer — would be so cute,” she expressed to the outlet.
There’s no question that the brief love story of 1999’s Nick and Alice was super cute. In true “The Way Home” fashion, it got complicated quickly, especially when adult Nick (Kerry James) realized the truth.
Snow feels like fans want more of the teenage Alice and Nick love story. “I feel l like people are still holding on to the Nick and Alice love story. I would be satisfied with that,” the actress declared.
Despite her thoughts on a spin-off of Alice and Nick from 1999, Snow also believes the show has done everything it was supposed to do regarding those two crazy teens. There are no missing pieces or unanswered questions for Snow regarding Nick and Alice when they were both teens.
As of this writing, there has been no mention of a “The Way Home” spin-off; Snow was simply revealing her idea ahead of the final season.
‘The Way Home’ Final Season Made With Love and Care for Fans
There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding how the hit Hallmark series will end. Snow, Chyler Leigh (Kat), and Evan Williams (Elliot) promised fans that a lot of thought and care went into the season.
“Our show creators, Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clark and Marly Reed, [did their best] to be able to tie up as much as we could within that limited scope. I don’t know how they do it,” Leigh expressed to Us Weekly.
Snow added that the creators are always in tune with what fans want or need, while also telling a good story. The actress made it clear that the final season was made with so much love and care because no one involved with the show wants to leave fans hanging.
However, that doesn’t mean all fans will be happy with how the series ends. Leigh teased, “You never know what happens with the pond.”
Fans will have to tune in to find out if that is a good or bad thing as “The Way Home” comes to an end. The final season begins on Sunday, April 19, at 8/7c on Hallmark.
