Just weeks after saying goodbye to “The Way Home,” Sadie Laflamme-Snow has some happy news to share in her personal life. The actress, who played Alice on the beloved Hallmark series, announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend Cameron Martin in an Instagram post on August 30. The post was captioned with nothing more than a diamond ring emoji.
Laflamme-Snow, 26, has been dating Martin, and an actor and opera singer, since 2023. Though the couple has largely left their relationship out of the spotlight, the engagement photos Laflamme-Snow shared show a much-desired peek into their life together. Of the carousel, the photo of Laflamme-Snow digging into a huge slice of pizza with grease dripping down her hand is a fan favorite. Fans couldn’t get enough of the photos and the nods to the ring throughout the photos.
Martin is a classical vocalist as well as an opera singer. The last time Laflamme-Snow shared Martin on her Instagram feed was in December 2025, where they celebrated the holidays in the snow.
Fans and Cast Members Weigh In
Fellow “Way Home” cast members flooded the comments with excitement, including Holly Deveaux, who played Abby Goodwin in the show’s final season. “Omg!!! Congrats you two!!!” she wrote.
Chyler Leigh, who played Alice’s mom, Kat Landry, wrote, “So happy for my little baby bird,” with a pink heart emoji. “THAT RING,” she added with heart eyes and ring emojis.
“My Life With the Walter Boys” actor Kolton Stewart, who currently co-stars with Laflamme-Snow on the animated series “Unicorn Academy,” also chimed in with congratulations. “Ginny and Georgia” star Sara Waisglass joked about the lack of a flashmob at the proposal, prompting Laflamme-Snow to jokingly reply that instead Waisglass hid in the bushes with confetti cannons.
“It’s like watching our little Alice grow up outside of a tv screen,” one fan commented with a tearful eyes emoji.
A Bittersweet New Chapter for “Way Home” Fans
The engagement announcement comes at an emotional time for fans of the show. “The Way Home” wrapped its fourth and final season on June 7 after Hallmark opted not to renew it for a fifth season. The choice to cancel the show leaves fans still processing the ending. Fans are hopeful, however, that Netflix will pick up the show and allow it to continue for a fifth season.
Just under two weeks before her engagement news, Laflamme-Snow and her castmates gave fans one more send-off. They shared a virtual cast performance of “Down By the Water,” a song from the show’s soundtrack originally and written and performed by Abigail Lapell. Kelsey Falconer, the actress who portrays Tessa Cooper, shared the cover as well as an emotional tribute to the show and castmates.
“Together we jumped, and we fell back in time… and through the magic of the pond… we found our way home,” Falconer wrote. “Thank you for welcoming us into your hearts for four beautiful seasons. Remember… every ending is just a new beginning. Port Haven and all of its stories will live on in our hearts forever… in any place… and in any time.”
