Actress Mindy Cohn, 59, is steadily recuperating after braving unexpected symptoms concerning her battle with cancer.
Cohn, who first revealed she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 after receiving her diagnosis five years earlier, made her return to Instagram on Sunday, April 19, after recently seeking treatment at Providence Saint John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California.
The Hallmark Channel newcomer, who stars in the “Hearts Around the Table” collection, vulnerably shared a photo from her hospital bed, captioning her image by thanking the staff for their continued care. Cohn, however, did not specify if her treatment was specific to her breast cancer or a newly detected form.

Cohn has kept her cancer journey fairly private since revealing her diagnosis. When she first opened up about her breast cancer, the “Facts of Life” sitcom star shared in an interview with People that she underwent a double mastectomy, radiation and chemotherapy — three life-changing steps that she cheekily refers to as a “siege.”
When talking with People, Cohn revealed the moment she realized something wasn’t right with her body in 2012 before receiving her diagnosis.
“I was walking around my neighborhood in Los Angeles, and I suddenly got so tired,” Cohn explained. “I just couldn’t go anymore. This was before Uber was really a thing, so I texted my friend Helen Hunt and said, ‘Something’s wrong with me. I need help.’”
The “Scooby-Doo” voice actress went on to share that her breast cancer was detected by a doctor sooner than she imagined, noting how she was being biopsied before she could catch her breath about the potential of even having cancer. “I kept that secret for a long time,” she shared.
Mindy Cohn Opens Up About Cancer Frustrations
Although she views herself as a rather optimistic person, Cohn told People that managing the uncertainty of her cancer over the years has left her drained in ways she never thought possible.
“The cancer metastasized,” she shared. “It kept spreading and coming back. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, and then it would. And then I’d wait for another shoe to drop, and it would. I was frustrated and enraged. I couldn’t control any of this. I couldn’t fix it.”
After Cohn shared that she had been offline for over a month to treat cancer symptoms, the actress was flooded with support and well wishes from her loved ones and fellow industry colleagues.
