Hallmark Announces Exciting ‘The Way Home’ News Ahead of Series Finale

The end is near for the hit Hallmark show “The Way Home”. Only a few episodes remain in Season 4, but Hallmark has some thrilling news that will give fans a piece of the show long after the series finale.

Hallmark Announces Major ‘The Way Home’ News

Music has played a pivotal role in “The Way Home” from the very beginning, and the theme has lasted throughout all four seasons of the show. Now, Hallmark has revealed that a massive playlist from the series is set to be released ahead of the series finale.

More than 30 songs from “The Way Home” will be featured on the playlist, including covers, original songs, and scores. Fans can enjoy the music starting June 12, when most of the playlist is released on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon. The final two songs will be dropped after the final two episodes air on Sunday, June 14 and 21.

According to Variety, the news was announced by cast members Chyler Leigh (Kat), Evan Williams (Elliot), and Sadie Laflamme-Snow (Alice) at the ATX TV Festival in Austin over the weekend.

“The Way Home” star Bianca Melchior (Fern) posted the exciting news on Instagram. Melchior shared a photo of the Variety article to accompany her caption.

“JUNE 12 ♡♪♪ @thewayhomehallmarkchannel @hallmarkchannel a dream come true… thank you @variety @emilylongeretta! we are all so over the moon that the magical music from #TheWayHome will finally be yours!!!!! i am so grateful to be a part of the musical landscape of our show alongside my stunningly talented castmates, and excited for you to have the official tracks in your library soon, including our brilliant composer @keithpowermusic’s score,” wrote Melchior on the social media share.

What Else to Know About ‘The Way Home’ Playlist

While not all of the playlist has been revealed, it has been confirmed Laflamme-Snow will have numerous songs on it, including “By the Light of the Moon” and “Where This Water Meets the Sea.” Some of the cover songs that made the list will be Leigh performing “You Learn” and Williams performing “Time After Time.”

Michelle Vicary, head of programming, Hallmark Media, told Variety, “The music of ‘The Way Home’ is an intrinsic part of the series and has been expertly used to set the time and place of each era. We are so proud of this incredible show and grateful to our loyal fans, so deciding to release these tracks they’ve fallen in love with was an easy one to make.”

“The Way Home” co-showrunners and executive producers Heather Conkie and Alexandra Clarke echoed that sentiment, while also expressing their excitement to be able to bring such a gift to fans of the show. It has been something that fans have been asking them for since Season 1.

“Music has always been such an important element of our show – not only because it’s a huge passion for our Landry family across several generations, but because it’s such a poignant and perfect way to mark the new eras and time periods that our characters have gotten to explore,” they issued in part of their statement to Variety.

Conkie and Clarke gave mad props to Jennifer Pyken and Ann Kline, who were responsible for the beautiful music and its incorporation into the series.

Make sure to tune in on Sundays at 9/8c on Hallmark to see how it all ends for the Landry family on “The Way Home.”
