Ben & Erin Napier Tackle ‘Biggest Renovation Project Yet’ in New HGTV Show

Ben and Erin Napier love a renovation challenge — and they’ve found it with their upcoming HGTV “Home Town” spinoff series. See what’s in store for the Napiers as they help their family and best friends in “Home Town: Inn This Together.”

Ben & Erin Napier’s New Show Features a Big Hotel Renovation Project

An April 10 press release revealed more details about “Home Town: Inn This Together,” a show that Erin first teased last year.

“Ben and Erin Napier will lend a helping hand in Laurel, Mississippi’s biggest renovation project yet in the new spinoff series ‘Home Town: Inn This Together,'” the release noted. “The Napiers, who have successfully revived many outdated homes and historical locations in their small town will lean in to help their family and best friends Jim and Mallorie Rasberry and Josh Nowell who plan to restore the dilapidated 1930 Kress building in downtown Laurel.”

The Heirloom hotel project wasn’t without some obstacles, however.

“The enterprising trio believes the 25,000-square-foot space that’s been vacant for 40 years will be the perfect setting for a hotel, food venue and storefront, but they’ll face an array of challenges on the way to make their dream a reality, including: crumbling walls, flooded floors, seven figure budget dilemmas and a devastating fire that severely damages the hotel post renovation,” the release added.

“Home Town: Inn This Together” premieres Sunday, May 10, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on HGTV.

Fire Set the Project Back, But They Were Determined to Rebuild

On August 26, 2025, right as the hotel project was approaching completion, a devastating fire broke out.

Erin shared the sad news in an Instagram post, writing at the time: “After so much celebration last week, today my best friends @malraz, Jim, and @joshuanowell lost their labor of love, their dream, @theheirloom.us hotel in an early morning fire.”

“Before they ever even welcomed the first guest. Praise God, no one was inside. We held each other and watched while the brave fire fighters from the Laurel FD worked for hours to get it under control,” the HGTV star continued.

She noted that while the day felt “like a funeral,” she knew that her friends would carry on. “They won’t give up here,” Erin shared. “I don’t know what will happen next or if you’ll ever get to see this @hgtv show now. I don’t know much of anything.”

“Pray for my friends and family, please. It is hard to explain how this reverberates through our town and its progress in many ways,” she added. “But I know God has a plan for this setback. He always knows the way, even when we don’t.”

In a January 2026 interview with TV Insider, Ben and Erin gave a hopeful update about the hotel project.

“I hope what people feel is how enormously proud we are of our friends for what they did,” Erin shared. “I mean, it was such a massive undertaking for them. I hope that people see and are inspired to see how much they can do for the town where they live.”

In a December 2025 interview with USA Today, Ben confirmed the show would air. Erin noted, “This was their baby. To watch them give their all — and I really mean give their all to create this masterpiece — and then to watch it burn together, was devastating.”

She added, “I think — even though it didn’t go the way we all were expecting and hoping and excited about — if you want to see human endurance and the spirit of we can do hard things, it is going to be that hotel series.”
