A reality television veteran is heading to HGTV to host his own series, and now the network has revealed the show’s premiere date. Bobby Berk starred on the Netflix reboot of “Queer Eye” for eight seasons before leaving the series. Now, he’s headlining “Junk or Jackpot” for HGTV.
Bobby Berk’s HGTV Show Premieres on December 26
On November 15, HGTV announced via Instagram that Berk’s “Junk or Jackpot?” will premiere on December 26. The caption of the post teased, “Bobby Berk is on a mission to rescue collectors from…their collections!”
The caption continued, “The Emmy-winning design expert will help transform chaotic collections into dream spaces.”
HGTV fans were quick to signal their excitement for Berk’s new series.
One fan commented, “So cool…we need more Bobby in TV! Can we also watch it in Germany?”
“I’ve been waiting for this,” wrote another fan.
Another added, “@bobby is gonna show ’em how it’s done! So happy to see this for you.”
The New HGTV Star Found the Experience Very Fulfilling
HGTV announced that the show will consist of six episodes for its debut season, with John Cena serving as executive producer. The show will feature Berk meeting “passionate people who are in desperate need of a life-changing renovation.”
Those people will “soon discover the hidden monetary value of their massive and unusual collections.” Berk will use both compassion and humor to connect with the collectors and guide them as they decide what move to make.
Berk explained, “This show is about helping people reclaim their peace and sense of self, and it was so fulfilling to help these owners unlock their full potential through this process.”
Viewers will see everything from superhero figurine collections to full-size furniture collections. Berk noted, “Many of them were overwhelmed, not just by the amount of stuff in their homes, but by the emotions and memories attached to it all.”
He found it rewarding to help the collectors “find clarity and create spaces that reflect who they are.”
As Forbes shared in December 2024, Berk claimed he chose to leave “Queer Eye” because his initial contract ended and he wanted to pursue other opportunities.
When he announced his departure in November 2023 on X, formerly Twitter, he teased, “Although my journey with Queer Eye is over, my journey with you is not. You will be seeing more of me very soon.”

Who cares–canceling Bargain Block pretty much ended my time with HGTV !
Who cares about collecting & cashing in. Bargain block in Detroit was very much a better show.
