Christina Haack’s Ex Josh Hall Posts That He’s a ‘Free Man’ as Divorce Settlement Goes Public

Their marriage may be officially over, but Josh Hall, the ex-husband of HGTV star Christina Haack, is still pointing fingers.

On August 28, 2025, as news broke about details of the former couple’s divorce settlement, Hall made a rare Instagram post to mark the occasion. The former police officer uploaded a photo of himself with a horse and tagged his location as Leipers Fork, Tennessee — a town just outside of Nashville, where he settled after he and Haack split in July 2024.

“Excited to spend Labor Day weekend in the real reality,” he wrote, likely referring to the world of reality TV he dove into after marrying Haack in October 2021. “Finally, legally divorced and a free man. I’ve always worked hard, kept what’s mine, and declined hand outs, and I’m keeping it that way. Lesson learned: don’t marry someone who needs constant public validation and will use your personal drama for attention.”

Haack has been vocal about how difficult and expensive the divorce process was with Hall, who was her third husband after being married to fellow TV personalities Tarek El Moussa and Ant Anstead.

For 10 months, she and Hall fought over assets from a marriage that lasted less than three years. Her frustrations even made it onto “The Flip Off,” the hit HGTV show that Hall had begun filming with Haack, Tarek, and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, before the breakup.

In the fifth episode that aired in February, Haack was talking on-camera to one of her best friends, Cassie Schienle, when she admitted, “Honestly, if I would’ve really understood the repercussions of all of this, I would’ve gotten a prenup or I never would have married him.”

Surveying vehicles in her garage that she’d brought back to California from Tennessee, Haack continued, “When my parents got to the house, this [quad] was gone. He took it. He thinks all of this is his even though I bought this before the marriage. That’s when I was like, ‘I need to get all of this out of here. He’s just going to steal it all.'”

Haack also noted in the segment that she was shocked “someone that didn’t work for a few years … would take advantage of me. Literally, the last offer he made me, I thought was asinine. The next one is worse. More money.”

In October 2024, a court document filed by Haack’s legal team and obtained by People claimed that “Josh Hall is requesting $65,000 per month in spousal support from (Christina) on a 2 year, 9-month marriage, which is outrageous when he is self-supporting.” The document also said Hall had “just paid over $70,000 to pay off the lease” on a Bentley, so he “has no need for spousal support.” Hall later denied requesting the money.

In settlement documents reviewed by EntertainmentNow on August 28, Hall was not granted any spousal support, but did get to keep his Bentley among several other vehicles, and received $400,000 in payments from Haack.

Haack has not directly addressed Hall’s post on August 28. Rather, she posted several Instagram Stories with her new beau, business executive Christophe Larocca, as they enjoyed dinner and wine in Chicago.

Hall’s post about being a “free man” was his second in August after having not posted since May. On August 12, he shared a photo of himself with his new love, swimsuit model Stephanie Gabrys, and captioned it, “Happiness..simplified. 🙏🏼”

Haack, Larocca, and the El Moussas did share a social media video on August 27 that poked fun at the drama that ensued when Hall and Haack broke up weeks into filming the first season of “The Flip Off.”

He was later seen in the premiere episode snapping at Haack during a car ride, and viewers saw Haack cry with over their breakup with Tarek, noting that their kids — Taylor and Brayden — had been concerned about the way Hall treated her.

HGTV confirmed in mid-August that “The Flip Off” has been renewed for a second season, with the El Moussas pitted against Haack again. It’s not clear yet if Haack will have a permanent partner for the season, and some fans have lobbied for Haack and Heather to team up instead.
