Dave and Jenny Marrs often have their work cut out for them on HGTV‘s “Fixer to Fabulous.” There’s one project, however, that was a “struggle” for the couple. Find out the renovation that presented the most challenging obstacles.
Dave & Jenny Marrs Said They Felt Like ‘Newborn Babies’ During Challenging Project
During a December 2025 interview with “Dayton 24/7 Now,” Dave and Jenny dished on one of their most challenging projects for HGTV.
“The Italian home was … that was a struggle,” Dave said of their work on an Italian villa in Tuscany.
He explained, “Not only the language and the distance to the project, but going over seas was one that … there were a few times we’re like, ‘What are we doing here? What are we doing?'”
Jenny added, “It was hard because we didn’t have really control like we do at home, because Dave’s the general contractor. We felt like newborn babies who couldn’t do anything.”
“It was a very different experience for us to feel like we have to do our job but we don’t necessarily have the capability here to do what we really need to do,” she noted. “It was fun though, too. It was a good challenge.”
Dave & Jenny Tackle 1 of Their ‘Wildest Projects’
The couple faced another interesting challenge on “Fixer to Fabulous,” when they needed to remove a trailer from the home built around it.
On December 17, Jenny took to Instagram to show the before and after of the project. “How it started —> How it ended!” she wrote in the caption.
Jenny explained, “Vignettes from one of the wildest projects we have ever taken on … ☺️ this one was so much fun (and a huge challenge)!”
“I shared the source guide in my profile with all of the sources, paint colors and before & after photos!” she added.
Fans lit up the comments section, sharing their reaction to the transformation.
“That was the craziest thing I have ever seen. A whole trailer??! But it turned out amazing,” one fan wrote.
Another fan noted, “I’m still stunned. What a beautiful transformation while staying true to the character of the original home.”
“Really great episode! I think I was not only stunned that the trailer actually came out, but that the structure itself could be sealed to be bug/ critter free as well,” another person commented.
One commenter noted, “This was amazing to watch.”
