On December 17, 2025, Drew and Jonathan Scott shocked Jennifer Hudson on her talk show by singing a Christmas carol for her — and then with her — including harmony that blew her and her audience away.
Property Brothers Ask Jennifer Hudson to Sing ‘Joy to the World’ With Them
While appearing on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” with the set fully decked out for the holidays, the Property Brothers were in a festive mood, talking about how much they love caroling with their family and friends.
Growing up in Canada, Jonathan shared, “We would go door to door with our family and we would sing to our neighbors and my dad and me would play the guitar, and we would carol.”
When Hudson asked them to sing for her, Jonathan said, “We can even harmonize a little,” before Drew interjected, “This is what we would do every year with our parents.”
The brothers then began to sing “Joy to the World,” harmonizing on the second line — and Hudson’s jaw dropped. Jonathan then encouraged her to join in, and the crowd went wild over the trio’s singing as Jonathan hilariously suggested they “layer in some dance moves!”
“That just blessed my whole spirit,” Hudson exclaimed as they sat back down.
The Property Brothers Released a Country Song in 2016
“We come from a musical family,” Drew told Hudson before they sang with her. “We were in the church choir. We even Billboard charted with one of our songs that we wrote years back, 10 years ago.”
It’s true — in 2016, Drew and Jonathan released a country tune called “Hold On” that debuted at number 38 on the Billboard Country Chart. And yes, the “Scott Brothers” even made a music video for the song, which they wrote for an HGTV special called “Property Brothers at Home on the Ranch.”
Although their music career didn’t take off, their renovation business certainly has, from multiple hit HGTV shows to a literal empire of home products.
The Property Brothers Previously Showcased Their Dance Moves on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’
Though this may have been the first time Hudson had heard Drew and Jonathan sing, it definitely wasn’t the first time she’d seen them dance.
The duo got to bust a move when they appeared on her show in November 2024, surprising many fans with the hip-hop moves they impulsively pulled out of their back pockets as they made their way through her staff’s backstage “Spirit Tunnel.”
Hudson’s staff creates a unique ditty for each guest who makes their way through the Spirit Tunnel backstage. For the Scotts’ entrance, they sang the words “Property Brothers on J Hudson” to a catchy tune while clapping along — and the twins shared all their tricks, from the Snake to the Running Man to the Worm.
Currently appearing in new episodes of “Celebrity IOU,” the twins announced on December 15 that a second season of “Don’t Hate Your House With the Property Brothers” will premiere on December 29.
