Dave Marrs recently took a special trip with his older sons, Nathan and Ben, sharing a bit of the reason behind their guys getaway. See what the HGTV star shared about their quality time together.
Dave Marrs & Twin Sons Make Important Memories Together
On September 15, Marrs took to Instagram to share a photo of him and his twin sons on a plane.
“I was able to get away for a few days this past week with my two oldest. Just a quick trip for the three of us,” Marrs wrote in the caption. “Jenny held down the fort at home, (thanks babe), and gave me four days to pour into my boys.”
He continued, “This morning I opened up my devotional and Ephesians 5-1 was my verse of the day. This verse could not have been more fitting for the last week. It says, ‘Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.'”
“As a Christian, I am called to actively follow God’s example, not in His infinite power, but in moral attributes like love, kindness, mercy, and forgiveness,” Marrs explained.
The HGTV star noted, “I also see this as a calling for me as a dad; to constantly be modeling these attributes for my children to emulate. I feel I was able to do that on our entire getaway, without distractions, which is so rare.”
He added, “I don’t know if this makes any sense? I just know that right now in our society, it seems like we could use a lot more love, kindness, mercy, and forgiveness. If I can show that to my children through my actions, as a beloved child of God, it seems like a good starting place.”
Jenny commented on the post, “Love you and the way you lead our family, babe! I know the boys will remember this trip always! ❤️”
