Mina Starsiak Hawk has received an outpouring of love from fans and former HGTV colleagues after revealing on September 26, 2025, that her family is grieving over the loss of their beloved pup, Frank.
Starsiak Hawk, who starred for eight seasons on “Good Bones,” wrote in a social media tribute, “I haven’t been ready to share, but I know a lot of you watched Frank grow up and have a place in your hearts for him as well. He had cancer and passed a couple weeks ago.”
Mina Starsiak Hawk Says ‘We Definitely Are Still Struggling’ Over Loss
Frank was a Dogo Argentino, according to Daily Paws, and appeared on episodes of “Good Bones” and in Starsiak Hawk’s social media posts over the years.
Captioning a series of sweet photos of her family with Frank, including both of her kids as babies, snuggled up with their gentle giant, Starsiak Hawk wrote, “He spent his time towards the end lounging at my side while I worked or eating hot dogs at every one of Jacks baseball games and getting all the pets and love.”
“He has been the most amazing companion to Steve and I and the kids,” Starsiak Hawk continued. “And been there for us to snuggle on during some of the hardest times in our lives the last 8 years. But also been there and been a part of some of the best.”
“He’s with his sisters now across the rainbow bridge and no longer is pain,” she wrote. “We definitely still are struggling without him and will be for some time. A void is left which makes you ask yourself, why even fall in love with a pup to begin with. But looking at any single picture of him, it’s so worth the love he gave while we had him. Love you, Franky. 🐾”

“Help! I Wrecked My House” star Jasmine Roth sweetly wrote, “Awww so sorry friends! It’s so hard. He was so loved and lived such a great life. 😍😍😍”
Michael J. Coyle, who was Starsiak Hawk’s interior designer on “Good Bones,” left four heart emoji — “❤️❤️❤️❤️” — on her post.
Over 14,000 fans reacted to Starsiak Hawk’s sad news, including one who wrote, “Such a beautiful doggie!🐾 I enjoyed seeing him in all your episodes! Sorry y’all (are) hurting, but he no longer is🌈”

Since “Good Bones” ended in 2023, Starsiak Hawk continues to conduct home renovations in the Indianapolis area and has appeared on episodes of “Rock the Block” and “House Hunters.”
