HGTV’s Jasmine Roth Rushed to ‘OB Emergency’ After Terrifying Pregnancy Scare

Jasmine Roth is pregnant with her third child. After experiencing difficulty getting pregnant with her second child, the “Help! I Wrecked My Home” star was shocked to find out she is expecting her third child with husband Brett Roth.

However, the traumatic birth of her daughter Darla in June 2024 has Roth understandably on edge. The HGTV pro shared a terrifying ordeal she experienced the same day she had to rush Darla to the ER.

Jasmine Roth’s Pregnancy Scare

Roth took to social media on Sunday, May 31, to share a scary situation she encountered over the weekend.

“Andddd since I’m sharing my day, about 10 minutes before Darla hit her head, we were trying this thing where you use your iPhone and your earbuds to listen to the baby’s heartbeat,” she explained via her Instagram Story. “I knew I was probably too early so wasn’t super concerned when I couldn’t find a heartbeat.”

She continued, “Then after Darla was all stitched up at the ER, I mentioned it to the doc and asked if they could do a quick listen to put my mind at ease.”

Roth went on to say that the emergency room doctors were also unable to find a heartbeat. She tried to remain calm “because that’s not their specialty.”

“But I took Darla home and get her settled and then took myself to the OB Emergency in Salt Lake just to be sure,” she continued. “They immediately found the heartbeat and even did a quick ultrasound to show the baby basically doing gymnastics and I couldn’t feel a thing.”

Roth — who shared her pregnancy news in May — thanked the doctors at both hospitals for all their help.

Darla’s Hospital Visit

The pregnant HGTV star shares 6-year-old daughter Hazel, and almost-2-year-old daughter Darla with Brett Roth.

The protective mother experienced something no parent ever wishes as she was home alone when Darla needed to be rushed to the emergency room. Over the weekend, Darla suffered a traumatic accident after falling off the couch and hitting her head on the coffee table.

“She had a 1/2″ indentation where her eyebrow was supposed to be,” Roth shared. “I’ve never seen anything like this. I was so scared for her. Hazel was screaming because she was scared too but we had to act fast. Poor baby cried but was so brave.”

It took seven stitches to close up Darla’s wound.

“She was such a trooper. I’m going to put our coffee table in storage until the kids are in college,” Roth continued. “Just a reminder that being a parent isn’t about all the pressure we put on ourselves to make everything perfect. It’s about keeping them as safe as possible and being there for them when something goes wrong.”

Despite the trauma, Roth was “feeling lucky it wasn’t worse.”

“We were able to take her home to rest and play,” she wrote. “Sending love to all the parents who are having tough times right now. You aren’t alone.”

Baby number 3 is due in the fall.
