Joanna Gaines is one proud mom — her daughter Ella proved she’s a talented designer with a project on “Fixer Upper: Colorado Mountain House.” The HGTV star’s daughter successfully transformed a small cottage into a cozy and beautiful space, with Joanna showing off the “after” photos of Ella’s hard work.

On December 27, Joanna took to Instagram to share a number of photos of Ella’s design efforts on “Fixer Upper: Colorado Mountain House.”
“I’m so proud of Ella for taking on her first design project! I loved learning from her as she made bolder choices and mixed fun patterns and colors,” Joanna wrote.
She added, “I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Take a look at Ella & Crew’s cottage. 🥹”
Ella chose a stunning green wall color and designed symmetrical arch features on either side of the entrance to the quaint kitchen. The green from the main living space carries into the kitchen cabinets, with a neutral wall color balancing out the bold green. A unique tile backsplash brings the space together. The photos also show her stunning bathroom design.

“Before heading off to college, Chip and Jo’s daughter, Ella, took on her first design project,” the Magnolia team shares. “Together with Jo, she brought this small guest cottage to life, transforming it with moody color, cozy patterns, and lots of bold tile.”
On December 23, Joanna took to Instagram to share a clip from “Fixer Upper: Colorado Mountain House.”
“What a gift it was to watch Ella’s vision for the small cottage come to life,” she noted in the caption. “Watching her reveal it to Crew made it one we’ll never forget!”
Joanna noted in the clip that Ella “always mentioned that she wants to do something in design.”
She continued, “We’ve actually looked for houses in Waco, didn’t find anything. But Chip had this fun idea to let her tackle the little cottage as her first design project.”
Chip and Joanna watched through the window as Crew ran in to see Ella and her cottage design. “This is like the perfect size for both of them,” the HGTV star said. “Probably my favorite reveal ever.”
