Just in time for the holidays, a new competition series is coming to Magnolia Network: “Gingerbread Land”.
“Introducing: the biggest little holiday competition ever imagined – Gingerbread Land!” former HGTV star Joanna Gaines shared via Instagram on Monday, November 3. “This show is all about joy, fun, and a sense of wonder. It’s a chance for families to gather, cheer on their favorite creations, and be inspired by the beauty and playfulness of the season.”
First Trailer for ‘Gingerbread Land’ Premieres
“This is a story about a land of sugar and spice,” the show’s host, Oliver Hudson, says in the first trailer. “Keep your head in the gingerbread.”
“Five teams of master gingerbreaders have come together for a competition like no other,” he continued.
One competitor said, “We’re up against the best.” Another added that she’d been having dreams about gingerbread.
“Guided by a charming host,” Hudson continued. “And sprinkled with surprise guests, this is where baking, building and amazing storytelling come together. And though it may not be a perfect fairytale, their gingerbread lands will grow, building giant miniature worlds. The sweetest holiday story is waiting to be told on ‘Gingerbread Land.’ The biggest little holiday competition.”
The winner of “Gingerbread Land” will take home a grand prize of $100,000.
“In the new series, contestants transform flour, sugar, and candy into intricate works of art, competing in playful rounds that test design, structure, and creativity,” the network revealed in October. “Each week, new challenges bring twists and surprises, while Oliver Hudson guides the fun with warmth and humor, inviting viewers into a magical holiday world, where imagination has no limits.”
Joanna Gaines Will Appear as a Guest Judge
“Gingerbread Land” judges include pastry chef Gale Gand and architect Michael Ford. Each week special guest judges will join the panel, including the “Fixer Upper” star, celebrity stylist Brad Goreski, chef Christina Tosi, and actress D’arcy Carden.
“That story, it makes me feel like it’s real,” Gaines was heard saying in the trailer. “That’s magic. Unbelievable.”
The Magnolia Network owner previously explained the inspiration behind “Gingerbread Land.”
“We wanted to create a show that makes you smile and puts you in the holiday spirit the moment you turn it on,” she said in an October press release, according to Variety.
“Gingerbread Land” premieres on Monday, November 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Magnolia Network and Food Network. New episodes are released each Monday.
