Jonathan Knight’s life continues to be a whirlwind, from performing with New Kids on the Block to transforming spaces for HGTV as he works on a secret new show. But his rock through it all is his husband, fitness trainer Harley Rodriguez.
On April 22, 2026, Knight — who starred in “Farmhouse Fixer” until its 2025 cancellation — made sure to give a shout-out from afar to Rodriguez for his 53rd birthday.

Knight wasn’t exaggerating about his growing love for his husband, whom he married in 2022, per People. In February, when he and Rodriguez appeared on the “Love Stories” podcast with Amy Robach and TJ Holmes, the couple said they’re more comfortable and content than ever in their relationship.
When Knight was asked to describe their relationship in five words or less, he gushed, “Oh my goodness — amazingly spectacular, settled, happy. You know … we’re at that point in our age as well as our relationship that, you know, it just feels good. We’re not in our 20s and 30s, battling all the demons that come along with that.”
“Like, we’re in our fifties,” he continued. “We’re settled, we’re content, we’re happy, we’re continually building what we started 18 years ago.”

In 2024, as Knight and Rodriguez were filming an HGTV spinoff that followed their renovation of a family camp on the East Coast, the two sat down with producers to reminisce about their relationship, all the way back to when they met in 2008.
“I was in LA rehearsing,” Knight recalled, “and it was a random Tuesday night. Rehearsed all day, I was so tired, and my friend called me and said, ‘Come out and grab a drink.’ I was like, ‘No, no, no,’ and then at the last minute, I went. And the friend of mine was actually also a friend of (Rodriguez’s). We didn’t know each other, and we just randomly met and fell madly in love.”
“We met at a bar, so it happens,” Rodriguez smiled.
When producers asked Rodriguez what he loves most about his hubby, he said, ” His heart. He has the biggest heart of anyone I know. When I first met him, he was always kind to, like, strangers. You can tell a lot with someone, the way they treat other people that they don’t even know, so that was a big plus when we first met.”
Rodriguez continued, “He’s just down-to-earth, handsome, when I first met him, his accent — his Boston accent — I was like, ‘Oh, that’s sexy.'”
Knight, meanwhile, quipped that his favorite thing about Rodriguez was that “he puts up with me,” but he wasn’t exactly joking.
“You know, I am kind of all over the place,” he continued. “My mind is crazy, and it takes a really special person to help keep me grounded. You know, he’s always there to support me through everything. You know, support is so important and understanding.”
