HGTV’s Page Turner Opens Up About Her Late Mom’s Influence on Her Career: ‘Miss You Terribly’

HGTV star Page Turner reflected on her success journey in an Instagram post on Wednesday, April 22. While explaining how she landed on TV, Turner opened up about her late mom, Patricia Turner, who would always know what to say and when to say it — something that the “Love It or List It” co-host said she misses dearly.

“My Mom ALWAYS called or text me at theeee RIGHT time with the RIGHT word. One day she text – Pagey, Robert Crawford said, ‘Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional.’ The option part is your choice,” Turner wrote. “And it was exactly what I needed to adjust my crown, stance & smile my [expletive] through it to victory.”

Page Turner Recalls Landing Her First HGTV Show

The real estate expert continued by recalling being 25 years old with her three kids, Zaire, Qai and Quincy. Turner gave herself a pat on the back for raising them to be exceptional women who followed on the right paths.

“As a young single mom of 25 with 3 beautiful baby girls under 3, & with ZERO support of any kind, an entrepreneur for the last 23 years -STRAIGHT- (My God I’m so grateful!), putting my babies through private school & college (Univ of TN, Bellarmine Univ & Notre Dame),” she wrote. “Moving to Nashville at 27 in 2000 by faith with 3 babies (& only knowing 3 people)… Changing my mind from what society drills & listening to my soul that I could be on TV for the first time representing an industry that’s been so good to me at FORTY TWO – so I created a show & sent the email (show #1), and GOT IT.”

Turner went on to share that in 2019, she decided it was time for her to leave Nashville and return back home to Los Angeles. At the time, she didn’t have a show booked or in mind. “If God did it before, he can do it again,” she added of remaining hopeful about the trajectory of her life and career.

With her prayers answered, Turner was able to land her second show, “Flip or Flop Nashville.” Then, by age 51, the HGTV star expanded her career even further by landing her spot as co-host on “Love If or List It” in Toronto, Canada, where she will be returning for another season in 2026 with co-host David Visentin, according to Country Living.

Page Turner Shares the Impact of ‘Ageism’ in Her Career

“All AMAZING opportunities & the epitome of dream-CATCHING (because we never chase!), that come with A LOT of challenges from ageism (that has really played in my own head at times & the biggest problem is dayum MENopause 🤣), to being a woman of color in spaces where wisdom, self-control & constraint are my weapons,” Turner shared of stepping outside of her mind while manifesting her dream life.

With her 53rd birthday right around the corner on April 25, Turner found herself in the eyes of her late mom. She ended her reflective post by reminding herself of what her mom’s guidance taught her before she passed in June 2025.

“To now sliding into 53 in three days on 4/25 and facing yet another challenge this week where I just had to shake my head and remind myself of what my Mama sent me at the right time,” she wrote. “And my choice to victory is to adjust my crown, pray my covering, keep my stance firm, and SMILE my way to victory. Because with THAT choice, victory is always mine. So cheers to a quick lil selfie photo shoot filled with smiles (it really makes a difference to smile through it!) 🤣🤣 And thanks Mama, I miss you terribly. 6/25/25 #taurus #builttough.”
