A ‘Zillow Gone Wild’ Favorite Suffers Major Damage After Pipes Burst & Fans Lend Their Support

A home previously featured on the HGTV series “Zillow Gone Wild” has sustained some serious damage. Homeowner Brooke Fleetwood had turned the house into what she envisioned as a real-life Barbie dreamhouse. Now, the home has significant water damage after pipes burst in the frigid Wisconsin weather.

As Fleetwood shared video of the damage and subsequent updates, fans stepped up to lend their support.

One person on Facebook wrote, “So sorry this happened to you Brooke! Sending hugs and positive vibes your way! It’s a stressful situation but you are a very smart woman so I am sure you will get it figured out in no time!”

The Barbiecore Castle Had 2 Pipes Burst in the Cold Weather

Fleetwood’s house was initially featured on “Zillow Gone Wild” in February 2025. HGTV further highlighted the property in an Instagram post shared in August 2025.

Briefly listed for sale for $1.1 million, the home is located in Hudson, Wisconsin.

As the Weather Channel indicates, the Hudson area is currently experiencing extreme cold weather. Temperatures may soon drop to the point where the “feels like” wind chill is negative 35 to 45 degrees Fahrenheit.

As the Weather Channel cautions, “The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 45 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.”

The extreme cold temperatures can cause problems inside, as well. Sometimes, cold weather can cause water in pipes to freeze, which generates significant pressure. The pressure can cause a pipe to burst, which can lead to a significant volume of water quickly spreading throughout the home.

Unfortunately, Fleetwood just experienced that in her Barbie-inspired home. On January 20, Fleetwood shared a video on Facebook showing her discovering the stressful situation.

As she pulled up to the home, Fleetwood noticed the front door was open. She walked indoors and passionately cursed as she explored the main floor that was covered in water.

When Fleetwood exited the home, a “city guy” as she described him in the post caption approached her and said he had been trying to find her. She didn’t know where to turn the water off, but he headed to the basement of the home to take care of it.

Homeowner Brooke Fleetwood Wouldn’t Wish This Situation on Anybody

Later, Fleetwood returned to Facebook with a photo showing that two pipes had burst. She also provided some additional context in a separate Facebook post.

Fleetwood said she headed to the Barbiecore Castle, as she calls it, after receiving a phone call from the city. She was already doing a live video at the time, and she continued recording as she entered the property.

One supporter commented, “When I watched the video, my heart hurt for you. You always prevail.”

Another added, “Sorry this happened. Many Hudsonites stand beside you.”

Fleetwood also explained in her Facebook post that while she wants “to get rid of” the property, it is not currently listed for sale. She noted that the rental income she makes by owning the property is significant. As a result, Fleetwood shared, she doesn’t “need to sell.”

Despite that, Fleetwood added, she would like to sell it so she can “pursue my dream and head to the beach.”

“Water damage is nothing to play with. It is actually horrible and I wouldn’t put it on anybody,” she wrote.

  1. So sorry this happened. For those living in this tundra remember to leave your faucets on with a trickle and if you have no heat turn your water off at the main source. Flush the toilets. Just keep water for drinking available. We just went through this as our furnace was out for three days. All pipes survived without issue. Also keep cupboard doors if sinks open so more heat gets to pipes!
