Jasmine Roth took on the challenge of designing an adorable nursery for her daughter and showed fans the behind-the-scenes process and final reveal. The HGTV star also opened up about the stressful birth experience and overwhelming stress of welcoming Darla while their family was in the middle of building a home.
Jasmine Roth Says Daughter Darla’s Birth Was ‘Traumatic’
On January 19, Roth took to Instagram to explain why finishing her daughter’s nursery was such a relief, providing a few details about Darla’s birth.
“As soon as Darla’s nursery was done I felt a feeling of deep relief,” she wrote in the caption. “It wasn’t about the nursery, the design, or anything like that.”
Roth continued, “Darla’s birth was traumatic. She was a month early and I almost birthed her on the side of the road in a canyon in Utah. She was so tiny at 4lbs 8oz, and I was so nervous to leave the hospital with her because I hadn’t finished building our house.”
“We were staying in a temporary rental and everything we owned was in storage. It was one of the most stressful times of my life,” the HGTV star noted.
“Being able to make it through that challenging time and not completely fall apart will forever be something I’m really proud of. So as I sit in this finished little vintage style nursery I feel a deep sense of relief and can’t wait to see what the next chapter will bring,” she added. “Here’s to hoping it will be a little less intense.”
Fans flooded the comments section with praise for Roth.
“You’re amazing. To come through all of that with all you do! Two beautiful little girls to love on!!” one fan noted.
Others shared, “I’m so happy everything is ok now” and “Wow! You are a warrior.”
“Having babies is intense and part of what makes women strong,” one person commented.
Another fan wrote, “I know the relief you must feel. So grateful that you all came through and can enjoy life again.”
Roth Created a Vintage-Inspired Nursery for Darla
On January 15, Roth took to Instagram to share a before and after look at her daughter’s nursery design.
“Watching this room come to life was really special. 🥹 Creating Darla’s nursery was a labor of love, filled with vintage-inspired details and cozy layers,” Roth wrote in the caption.
She continued, “I actually never intended to wait until she was 6 months old to start her nursery but if you’ve been following my story you know that nothing went to plan. And honestly, it’s ok! It gave me a chance to get to know her a bit and design a room that I felt fit her little baby character instead of just the idea of her.”
“Would I recommend doing it this way? NO! Ha!” Roth noted. “But only because it was 1000x harder to complete once she was around vs before, but silver linings you guys …”
