The ‘Funny Games’ Cast Then & Now: PHOTOS

Michael Haneke’s “Funny Games” is a 2007 English language shot-for-shot remake of his own 1997 Austrian movie of the same name. A satirical psychological horror thriller, it follows an affluent family who are captured and tortured by two young home-invading criminals while they’re on vacation at their lake house.

It stars Naomi Watts and Tim Roth as married couple George and Ann Farber, along with an able supporting cast who make the movie a wholly suspenseful watch with their performances.

“Funny Games” holds a 53% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Commercially, it was a flop. Having cost $15 million to make, it only grossed around $8 million worldwide (per Box Office Mojo).

Released in the United States on March 14, 2008, it will turn 18 this year. With that in mind, wouldn’t it be cool to see the core cast now compared to how they looked when the movie released? Let’s do that now…

It’s great to see the core cast of “Funny Games” are all doing well in 2026. It’s well worth revisiting (although, we must admit, the original Austrian version is far superior).
