Sarah Ferguson has reportedly traveled to Portugal following the arrival of Princess Eugenie’s third child.
Sarah spent time with her youngest daughter, son-in-law Jack Brooksbank and their newborn baby girl. She was keeping a low public profile for much of 2026.
GettyAccording to InStyle, Sarah made a quiet arrival in Melides, Portugal, to support Eugenie after she gave birth on August 3.
Hello! reported that Sarah is a regular at restaurants in the area and has joined Eugenie and Jack for dinner.
The couple split their time between the United Kingdom and Portugal, where they reportedly own an oceanside home in the Costa Terra community.
Sarah is believed to be helping the family adjust to life with their new addition.
Eugenie Welcomed Her First Daughter
Eugenie and Jack welcomed their third child at a hospital in Lisbon.
The baby girl was born at 6:20 p.m. and weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces.
“Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!!” Eugenie wrote on Instagram. “We are beyond in love with our girlie.”
A Buckingham Palace announcement said King Charles, Queen Camilla and other members of the royal family were delighted to learn of the baby’s safe arrival.
The newborn joins Eugenie and Jack’s sons, August, 5, and Ernest, 3. She is 15th in the line of succession to the British throne.
A Special Moment for Sarah
The baby is Sarah’s fifth grandchild.
Her eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice, shares daughters Sienna and Athena with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Sarah is also a grandmother to Edoardo’s son, Christopher “Wolfie” Mapelli Mozzi, from a previous relationship.
The author has spent significant time with August and Ernest and has frequently spoken about the joy she finds in being a grandmother.
GettySarah has rarely been seen publicly in 2026 amid renewed controversy surrounding her and former husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s past association with Jeffrey Epstein.
She also reportedly moved out of Royal Lodge in Windsor earlier in the year and spent time at wellness retreats in Austria and Switzerland.
Andrew was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office over allegations connected to confidential government information allegedly shared with Epstein. He was later released under investigation and has not been charged with an offense, according to Reuters.
Eugenie Enjoys Life in Portugal
Eugenie has previously spoken about enjoying the privacy and relaxed lifestyle her family experiences in Portugal.
“Portugal is the dream because I can go to the supermarket in my exercise gear and my hair piled on my head and not mind,” she said on the “Table Manners” podcast.
Eugenie added that her sons enjoy swimming and learning about the sea.
The family’s peaceful Portuguese home now offers Eugenie and Jack a private place to settle in with their daughter, with Sarah reportedly nearby to lend her support.
