Beloved 2000s rock band The All-American Rejects abruptly halted their performance mid-song following a scary crowd incident.
On Saturday, the rock band brought a wave of nostalgia as they performed at the KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas concert at the Kia Forum in California.
The All-American Rejects joined other iconic musicians, including Evanescence, Papa Roach, The Paradox, Rise Against, Third Eye Blind, Social Distortion, Wet Leg, and Yellowcard.
The band performed some of their classic hits that the crowd definitely loved, including “Dirty Little Secrets,” “I Wanna,” “Swing, Swing,” and more.
However, while performing “Gives You Hell,” the band’s frontman, Tyson Ritter, stopped the show after spotting a female concertgoer in distress.
EMTs Were Called
In a TikTok video shared by TMZ, Ritter can be seen calling for EMTs after noticing a woman had passed out in the crowded pit.
“Is she back?” Ritter kept the mood lighthearted. “She with us? Tell me you weren’t looking for your [expletive] purse.”
The All-American Rejects vocalist even offered the distressed fan to watch the rest of the show onstage, just to make sure she could still be part of the experience.
“Let’s get you out of there,” Ritter said as the crowd cheered. “You can come sit and watch the rest of the song onstage.”
As if that wasn’t enough, Ritter passed his guitar to a crew member and handed his water bottle to the fan.
“We need Twinkies, some sugar. Anybody got any gumdrops?” he continued, keeping the mood light as staff assisted the concertgoer. “It’s [expletive] Christmas time, do we have any Christmas gumdrops? Pieces of gingerbread houses?”
Fans Praise The All-American Rejects & Tyson Ritter’s Care for Fans
After a few minutes, the security and crew managed to move the weak girl to a safer place.
Fans flooded social media with praises for The All-American Rejects and Ritter for the way they handled the scary situation.
One fan wrote on TikTok, “This was also the most respectful mosh pit I’ve ever seen. Elder emos. Just a respectful night all the way around.”
A fan commented on Instagram, “How it should be done,” while another chimed in, “All-American Heroes.”
Someone added, “That’s a truly heroic and compassionate act by Tyson Ritter! So glad he prioritized his fans’ well-being.”
Meanwhile, an Instagram user claiming to be the distressed fan in the video confirmed that she’s fine and was able to enjoy the rest of the show from a safer spot.
“Yeah. That’s me,” the fan commented. “Oh, the world of videos in the crowd. Appreciate the help! So thanks to medical, and sorry to disturb the show. To clarify, this is sadly cervical spine nerve compression. Thanks to @therejects and @kroq, I was back on the floor for Social D, enjoying the rest of the show from further back with some aspirin and ice packs.”
