Proud Dad Billy Ray Cyrus Gushes Over Daughter Miley Cyrus Ahead of Huge Honor: ‘You Did It Girl!’

Billy Ray Cyrus is one proud papa. The country star couldn’t contain his excitement on May 8, 2026, as it was announced that his daughter — music star, actress, and former “The Voice” coach Miley Cyrus — would soon receive her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with her ceremony now scheduled for May 22.

Posting a black and white photo of him with Miley as a toddler, sitting on the back of his motorcycle, Billy Ray wrote, “It’s a long way from Tennessee to Hollywood @mileycyrus! And you did it girl!”

Billy Ray Cyrus Says He & Miley Cyrus Used to Clean Off the Hollywood Stars When She Was Little

Billy Ray, 64, who starred with Miley, now 33, on her breakout Disney Channel show, “Hannah Montana,” continued in his first message, “Congratulations on your well deserved Star on the @hwdwalkoffame!”

Revealing their special history with the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he continued, “Remember those nights you spoke about when I’d sneak ya out of our hotel and we would go lurk on those dirty sidewalks !!!! And you would point out all the chewing gum because you knew it made me sick!!!! 🤢 So proud of you 👏🏻 Love ya. ♥️”

The next day, on May 9, Billy Ray shared a follow-up post with another photo of Miley on the back of his bike — this time from their “Hannah Montana” days. The caption on that one had an additional mesage for his famous daughter.

He wrote, “P. S. @mileycyrus I am coming in early to clean and shine the sidewalks before the big day.  It’s only once in a lifetime, a Daddy from Flatwoods, Kentucky gets to see his little girl … evolve into an Actress into a full fledged Rock Star ⭐️ to circling back to … ‘oh by the way ‘.  Time for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame !!!!”

“Can’t make this up,” Billy Ray added. “Art …imitating life …imitating art once again in the Cyrus Family.”

Fans Loved Seeing Billy Ray Cyrus So Thrilled for Daughter Miley After Their Estrangement

Fans loved seeing how supportive and excited Billy Ray was regarding Miley’s huge honor, including one who wrote, “You are the best dad to her! I love your family! Goals💕💕 you are love!”

Someone else reminded the “Achy Breaky Heart” hitmaker, “@billyraycyrus you wrote a song about watching your daughter @mileycyrus leave home to chase her dreams . and now she’s literally becoming part of hollywood forever . full circle moment 🌟💖”

Another fan from Kentucky, where Miley was born, chimed in, “From your neck of the woods here! Everything you two did together has made us all proud.”

But things were not always so loving between Miley and her dad; the two have had their ups and downs, especially after he and her mom, Tish Cyrus, divorced in 2022. The couple first filed for divorce during a rough patch in 2010, when “Hannah Montana” was a big hit, but they patched things up for a while, per Biography. But by 2022, they couldn’t see eye to eye anymore, and Miley took sides with her mom.

When she won a Grammy in 2023, Miley thanked Tish, but not her dad — yet she longed to reestablish a connection with him, the outlet said. Tish eventually remarried and Billy Ray has been dating actress and model Elizabeth Hurley — all of which helped Miley decide to make amends, happy to see both of her parents happy.

In May 2025, she told the New York Times, “As I’ve gotten older, I’m respecting my parents as individuals instead of as parents—because my mom’s really loved my dad for her whole life, and I think being married to someone in the music industry and not being a part of it is obviously really hard. And so I think I took on some of my mom’s hurt as my own because it hurt her more than it hurt me as an adult, and so I owned a lot of her pain.”

“Now that my mom is so in love with my stepdad, who I completely adore, and now that my dad, I see him finding happiness, too—I can love them both as individuals instead of as a parental pairing,” she continued. “I’m being an adult about it.”

Miley’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony will be held on
