Brandi Cyrus, the 38-year-old sister of Miley Cyrus, announced the day after Christmas that she got engaged. The singer, actress, and DJ joyfully captioned a set of Instagram snaps, “It’s been the craziest, biggest year of my life and I get to close it out saying YES to forever with my dream man.” She then tagged her fiancé, Mountain Choppers bike shop owner Matt South.
Brandi went on, “I’m so thankful everyday that my flight got cancelled and I walked into this coffee shop one afternoon and found you. You’re my very best friend and everything I’ve spent my whole life looking for. I love you forever!”

South also shared his perspective of the proposal in a post he shared on December 27, romantically revealing that he proposed with a family heirloom. The bike enthusiast wrote, “A couple summers ago, I walked into a little coffee shop in Tennessee with @outlawpicker and asked to pet a pretty girl’s dog. Couple weeks back, I threw that girl on the bike, pretended to break down out front of that same shop after hours and pulled my grandmother’s ring out of the tool roll.”
He went on to shower with Brandi with praise, saying, “I’ve never met a sweeter woman. She’s selfless, hardworking, driven, truly dedicated to giving her animals the best life she can and a real partner in every sense. She’s my best friend and more than I could ever ask for.”
South added, “Last weekend we got to celebrate all this with some family and my best buds here in the US, it was a great night. I’ve always had a little luck on my side but it took more than I deserve to land this woman.”
Brandi replied to the sweet post by commenting, “LOVE YOU FOREVER!”

The news of Brandi’s engagement comes just a few weeks after her sister Miley revealed her own engagement on December 2, 2025 by rocking a ring to the “Avatar: Fire and Ash” premiere. People reported the same day the red carpet photos hit social media that they confirmed the 33-year-old former Disney star is engaged to 27-year-old Maxx Morando via a source. “Francesca Simons, a rep for jewelry designer Jacquie Aiche, confirmed to PEOPLE that Aiche made the ‘bespoke’ ring, which features a cushion-cut stone set on a thick, 14-karat yellow gold ban,” says the report.
Miley and Morando have been linked since 2021.
