Pop star Britney Spears has claimed she suffered “brain damage” following a traumatic period.
She posted to Instagram on Sunday, Oct. 19, with the lengthy statement.
She claimed she was forcibly confined and unable to move freely, and that “the logic and mindfulness in my body as ONE was 100 percent murdered and destroyed.”
“I do feel like my wings were taken away and brain damage happened to me a long time ago 100 percent,” she wrote. “I have of course moved on from that troubling time in my life and I’m blessed to be alive.”
The 43-year-old shared an image of herself as she rode a horse. She also mentioned the 2014 Disney film “Maleficent” in her post.
“My back… my blades… my wings… remember the movie Maleficent such an incredible movie!!!!” Spears added.
Spears Rarely Speaks Out
Her statement comes amid the upcoming release of her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s memoir “You Thought You Knew,” which features serious allegations against Spears—claims she strongly denies.
Spears’ post referenced a four-month period during which, she wrote, she “no longer had my private door and illegally was forced to not use my feet or body to go anywhere.”
Federline, in his book, depicts decades-old incidents involving their two sons—Sean Preston and Jayden James—and warns that Spears’ alleged behavior is on a “tragedy” path if unaddressed.
Spears’ Relationship With Federline
Spears married Federline in 2004 and divorced in 2007.
After their split, Federline was granted primary custody as Spears faced personal and legal challenges, including her widely publicized conservatorship that began in 2008.
Throughout the years, Spears has expressed deep love for her sons while also acknowledging the distance that has grown between them.
Spears has stated that her children like to remain private. She gushed about being a mom in an Instagram post in September 2021.
“There is nothing stronger than the love between a mother and son,” she shared in the post.
“My boys’ birthdays were last week … and unfortunately they are growing up and want to do their own things,” she added. “I have to ask their permission to post them because they are extremely independent little men !!!”
She added how special the two are to her.
“There’s a lot I can’t share with you all because my kids are very private which I love but I will tell you they are both extremely talented and I’m so incredibly blessed to have these two little men in my life !!!” she added.
She jokingly added that her sons probably weren’t going to see the post. “I love you two little devils so much,” she concluded.
Just remember, she said that about brain damage.
