Pop-punk singer Avril Lavigne showed off her pink hair while performing at the When We Were Young Fest, and she looked incredible during her set. Although only the ends of her blonde hair are dyed pink, the new look was breathtaking against her black-and pink-plaid outfit and pink stage set.
Avril Lavigne at When We Were Young Fest
Lavigne joined various pop-punk artists in performing at When We Were Young Fest in Las Vegas, including Blink-182, Yellowcard, Simple Plan, All Time Low, Mayday Parade, The Story So Far, and more. In fact, Lavigne performed a recent collaboration with Simple Plan, singing their song “Young & Dumb.”
Lavigne’s set list started with one of her most iconic songs, “Girlfriend.” She then continued her nine-song set exclusively with her singles, from “What the Hell” to “I’m With You” and more. Finally, she closed her performance with the song that put her on the map, “Sk8er Boi,” off her debut album, “Let Go.”
GettyFor the Las Vegas concert, Lavigne wore black knee-high boots with black fishnet tights. She paired the grunge look with an edgy black mini-skirt and black top, leaving the pops of color to reside in her hair and her jacket.
To match her new hot pink tips, Lavigne wore a pink-plaid-and-black jacket. Her mic stand was also pink and black, albeit a different shade than her hair.
GettyLavigne, fittingly, performed on what When We Were You Fest dubbed “the pink stage.” Flashing pink lights donned the stage, and behind Lavigne played a video of moving pink hearts with skulls in them.
Lavigne has incorporated hot pink into her look before, including in her hair. Recently, in an Instagram post advertising When We Were Young Fest, Lavigne showed off hot pink and lime green streaks in her hair. The Canadian pop star isn’t the only recent celebrity to make the move to pink hair; P!nk’s son dyed his hair the same color in a nod to his mom.
