Taylor Swift and Cara Delevingne

Cara Delevingne Details Sweet Support from Taylor Swift Ahead of Music Debut

Cara Delevingne is opening up about the strong support system behind her as she steps into a new chapter with her music career, and at the center of it is her longtime friend Taylor Swift.

As Delevingne prepares to release new music and take the stage for her first headlining shows, she reflected on the guidance she has received from Swift, who has helped shape her mindset as she enters the industry.

Speaking at Billboard’s Women in Music event, Delevingne shared that Swift encouraged her to stay grounded in her artistry and focus on what feels authentic, even as outside opinions come into play. According to E! News, Delevingne emphasized that as artists grow, criticism is inevitable, but staying true to personal expression is what matters most.

Taylor Swift’s Advice and a Friendship Built on Support

Delevingne said her main goal with music is simple. She wants people to feel something. That perspective, she explained, has been reinforced by Swift’s advice, which centers on authenticity and emotional connection with an audience.

Their friendship goes beyond professional encouragement. Delevingne previously opened up about a deeply personal moment when Swift showed up for her during a difficult time. She revealed that after going through a “really horrible breakup,” Swift invited her to live with her, creating a supportive and stable environment while she worked through it, according to Elle.

During that period, Delevingne described Swift as caring and nurturing, someone who made sure she was taken care of. At the same time, she joked that their dynamic was not without its fun, recalling that she “took her for a bit of a wild ride” while living together.

Delevingne has also praised Swift’s personality, describing her as one of the funniest and most clever people she knows. She shared that Swift’s humor extends beyond music, recalling how she once turned a wedding speech into a playful roast. Delevingne said Swift could easily hold her own in any room, both creatively and personally.

A New Chapter in Music With Familiar Support

As previously reported, Delevingne is now stepping into music in a major way, announcing her first headlining tour alongside upcoming singles “I Forgot” and “Out of My Head.” The tour will span multiple cities across Europe, the U.K. and North America, offering fans a more intimate introduction to her sound and creative direction.

In addition to Swift, Delevingne credited artists like Alanis Morissette and Fiona Apple as key influences on her music. She shared that Apple has been especially supportive, even exchanging creative ideas and feedback with her as she developed her work.

Still, Delevingne made it clear that the encouragement she has received from her circle of female friends has been a major factor in her confidence moving forward. She emphasized how meaningful those relationships have been, both personally and professionally, as she takes this next step.

The support has always gone both ways. Delevingne has publicly backed Swift in her own life as well, including her relationship with Travis Kelce, previously sharing that it felt different in a positive way.

As she moves into this new era, Delevingne’s story reflects a foundation built on creativity, friendship and trust, with those closest to her continuing to play a key role in her journey.

“The only thing I want is for people to feel things from this music,” she said, per E! News.
