Popular Rapper Announces Comeback Album After Prison Release

Fetty Wap is stepping back into the spotlight and fans are already feeling the energy.

Just over two months after his early release from prison, the rapper is officially making his return to music with a new album titled “Zavier,” set to drop on March 27, 2026. The announcement comes as Fetty has been steadily reactivating his presence on social media, sharing posts that hint at a new chapter in both his life and career.

On March 16, he posted a black-and-white cinematic trailer for his album on Instagram with the caption, “Never said this out loud before… Fetty x Zavier. Zavier out on March 27th.” The rollout quickly gained attention, with fans flooding the comments, including one who wrote, “The growth is so fire let’s gooo.”

In another post, Fetty shared a photo of himself in the recording booth, writing, “Sometimes you gotta lose everything to hear what God has been telling you the whole time.” The message reflected the tone of his comeback, which appears rooted in reflection and growth.

According to Billboard, the album will include 17 tracks and marks his first full-length project since his January release. Fetty described the project as “a reflection of a new chapter in my life,” adding that he wants to bring back “good energy and good vibes” with his music.

A New Chapter After Time Away

Fetty Wap, born Willie Junior Maxwell II, served more than three years of a six-year sentence after pleading guilty to federal drug charges in 2022. He was released early in January 2026, nearly a year ahead of schedule.

Since then, he has been open about how the experience changed him. In the trailer for “Zavier,” he spoke about losing fame and identity, explaining how the quiet moments forced him to reconnect with who he is beyond the public persona.

“When it get real quiet that’s when it hit different,” he said in the clip.

The rapper has also said he is focused on using this next phase of his life with intention, including giving back through community initiatives that support at-risk youth with education and resources.

Reflecting on Loyalty and Support

Alongside his music comeback, Fetty has been candid about the personal lessons he learned during his time away.

Speaking on the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast, he shared that his sister, Divinity Maxwell-Butts, was the only person who consistently stood by him while he was in prison. He explained that while many people showed support when he was successful, that changed once he was no longer around.

Fetty credited his sister for stepping up during a difficult time, even while navigating her own life changes, including a new marriage and pregnancy. He said she helped handle important matters related to his legal situation and remained a constant presence throughout.

As he prepares to release “Zavier,” Fetty Wap is stepping into a new era shaped by both his past experiences and a renewed focus on his future.

“This new music is a reflection of a new chapter in my life,” he said.
