Hip-Hop artist Fetty Wap, who became an instant household name after releasing his infectious hit “Trap Queen” in 2015, has secured an early prison release after spending around two and half years in lockup due to what the US Department of Justice called a “drug trafficking conspiracy.”
The record label 300 shared footage of the artist being welcomed with applause in a scene fans jokingly compared to Jennifer Hudson’s “Spirit Tunnel.”
The New Jersey native followed up his “Trap Queen” success with several more hits, including “679,” “My Way,” and “Again.”
He and five co-defendants were accused of distributing cocaine and other drugs, per the Justice Department’s report.
Upon his release, the rapper took to his Instagram Stories to share a quiet message of celebration, simply writing, “HOME.” TMZ says they were told by the Bureau of Prisons that the star was transferred to home confinement in Philadelphia yesterday, January 7. He will be fully released from oversight custody on November 8, 2026, and will be on probation for 5 years, per the story.
On December 29, Fetty shared a photo from behind bars, posing with two other men.

So that’s it. That’s the story. It’s real simple.”
