Beloved Singer Announces That He Privately Became a Father

Miguel has millions of fans worldwide, thanks to being the singer behind hits like “Sure Thing.” However, he, like many artists, tends to keep his private life to himself. Recently, the beloved singer announced to the world that his firstborn child had just celebrated his first birthday.

Miguel shared a video of himself on Instagram on September 9, holding the bundle of joy. Notably, he and his partner, Margaret Zhang, decided to blur out the child’s face for privacy reasons. The adorable video also features the baby clapping as an original sound plays. He began in the caption, “Our baby turned 1 today !!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGELITO !!!”

Miguel then said, “We love you so much! So proud and honored that you chose us to be your parents. Papá wrote you a song – hope it always reminds you of how loved you are.” Since he posted the video, more than 76,000 people have liked the post in celebration of him becoming a father.

This Comes Two Years After Miguel’s Divorce

It’s unclear exactly how long Miguel and the mother of his child, Zhang, have been a couple. However, reports suggest that they may have started dating sometime around 2023. She is a creative director, filmmaker, and writer. Notably, the cute video of their son was directed by her.

His last publicly known relationship was with Nazanin Mandi. According to E! News, he married her in 2018. Before marriage, they had been dating for over a decade.

She wrote on Instagram at the time, “11-24-18 Meet Mr. & Mrs. Pimentel. What a truly magical day filled w/ so much love, light & positivity. The second Miguel & my Father got emotional THAT WAS IT No holding back the tears.” However, they announced their separation in September 2021. From there, they reconciled for a while before divorcing in 2022.

He’s Also Returning to Music

Miguel began his career as a singer in 2010 with the release of his first single, “All I Want Is You.” He released his debut album of the same name in November of that year. In total, he has released four studio albums, with the latest being 2017’s “War & Leisure.”

According to Vibe, Miguel has now announced his fifth studio album, “CAOS.” It is set to be released on October 23, which will also be his 40th birthday. So far, the new album is preceded by the single “New Martyrs (Ride 4 U).”
