Iconic R&B and soul musician Angie Stone died in a car crash on March 1, 2025. She was 63. It has been less than a year since her passing, and her son, Michael Archer II, is honoring his mother on her heavenly birthday. Stone would have celebrated her 64th birthday on December 18. In her memory, Archer II posted a heartfelt message on Instagram.
Celebrating Angie Stone’s Heavenly Birthday
Archer II, who goes by the professional name Swayvo Twain, posted several photos on Instagram in honor of Stone’s birthday. The pictures include throwbacks to his younger years and images of Stone performing onstage. In the caption, Archer II shared his thoughts. “Happy birthday mama….. I love you so much …. I miss you so much … every single day ….. too many feelings to write em all out , but I just wanna thank you for being who you are …. Love ya mama,” he wrote.
Fans reacted to the post with messages of love and support, letting Archer II know that he is not alone in his grief. “I just want you to know we love you …” a comment reads. “Honoring the earthly existence of Ms. Angie B. Rock on, Queen,” another person shared.

At the time of Stone’s passing, Archer II and his sister Diamond Stone paid tribute to her with an Instagram post. They shared their thoughts in an emotional, lengthy message, reflecting on Stone’s legacy and asking for privacy. “It is with heavy hearts that the children of the R&B singer Angie Stone along with her extended family want to thank you all for your love and well wishes during what is an extremely difficult time,” part of the statement reads.
The statement continues, “Diamond and Michael along with the rest of Angie‘s family want to thank you for reaching out, but also asked that you respect their privacy as they grieve the loss of their beloved mother.”
GettyStone had an incredible career and was nominated for a slew of awards, including three Grammy nominations. Some of her big hits included “More Than a Woman,” “U-Haul,” and “Baby.” She had an undeniable impact on the music industry and is missed by many.
Heartbreakingly, Archer II also lost his father, singer D’Angelo, months after Stone’s passing. D’Angelo died on October 14. He was 51.
