If you like to keep up to date with celebrity real estate, then you’ll be interested to know that there has been some intriguing news happening in the New York City area. For instance, Kaia Gerber is selling her Manhattan apartment for $5.79 million while a little outside of the city, Amy Schumer has sold her Brooklyn townhouse for $11 million amid her split from her husband.
Now, Ricky Martin has offloaded his NYC home for $6.45 million after putting it on and taking it off the market since in 2017, when the singer first asked $8.4 million for the residence.
Located at 170 East End Ave. on the Upper East Side, Martin bought the residence for $5.9 million back in 2012. When it hit the market this past September, it was listed for $6.45 million which means the star scored his latest asking price for the impressive abode.
The Home Features Enviable Perks
What did the new owner get for $6.45 million? First, they get to live in the “luxury building” which was built in 2008 and designed by Peter Marino, according to the New York Post. It also overlooks Carl Schurz Park by the East River.
Inside of the apartment which is found on the seventh-floor of the building, the buyer will get to enjoy 3,147 square feet of space. That includes four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms.
The home also “features a large open living/dining area, with 10-foot high floor-to-ceiling windows and hardwood floors; and an open, windowed chef’s kitchen with custom cabinetry designed by Marino,” per the New York Post.
Beyond that, “[t]he residence boasts two main bedroom suites with oversized walk-in closets and spa-like baths” while a “fifth room can function as an extra bedroom — or a study, a library, a nursery or a media room.”
Ricky Is Also Selling His Beverly Hills Home
CanvaWhile Martin may no longer have a New York City residence, he still has a rather large mid-century mansion in Beverly Hills … for now.
Notably “a serene, modernist residence with a surprising architectural pedigree,” the “11,000-square-foot dwelling was a 3,000-square-foot home designed by acclaimed midcentury architect Gregory Ain for psychiatrist Fred Feldman and his wife, Elaine, in 1953,” according to Architectural Digest.
“Even though the house had been greatly expanded over the years, we still wanted to respect its original vision—the clean lines, the openness, and the sense of calm,” Martin explained to AD.
Martin and his now-former husband Jwan Yosef enlisted the help of designer Nate Berkus to turn the house into their home.
“Ricky and Jwan are both artists, and they have very particular ideas about how they want to live,” Berkus said. “Ultimately, I helped give them a solid, neutral foundation that they can cultivate together to make the home truly theirs. The sense of place is all about the future of their family.”
However, 6sqft. notes that Martin is now “also in the process of selling his Beverly Hills mansion at 1309 Davies Drive. The mid-century residence is currently listed for $49.95 million, down from its original $75 million asking price.”
