Taylor Swift has made plenty of grand entrances into football games since starting to frequently watch the Kansas City Chiefs after getting into a relationship with now-fiancé Travis Kelce in 2023. The megastar has notably been spotting showing off her gameday style and rocking a lot of looks from Louis Vuitton. One designer ensemble she showed up in was worth $10,000, according to People.
But last night, September 14, her gameday entrance was a little different. Swift and her team seem to have stepped up security in a big way, and they made some major moves to ensure the starlet’s safety on Sunday. Read on to learn how Swift switched up her stadium strategy.
Bulletproof!
Swift stealthily snuck into Sunday night’s Chiefs game from behind a bulletproof wall, per a TMZ report. The outlet says the “Our Song” hitmaker walked into the stadium behind a bullet-resistant portable shield. One fan caught the creative entrance on video and shared it on X, writing, “I think this is Taylor sneaking in. I’m confused.”
TMZ says the group of people surrounding the $6,000 rolling screen were security guards and other staffers. According to the story, this is the first time Swift has taken such major precautions while arriving to watch one of Kelce’s games. They say she’s typically spotted making a high-profile entrance and caught in lots of video clips as she makes her way to her private suite. Fans will be waiting to see whether entering out of sight is the music icon’s new normal.
Taylor Swift Previously Talked About Traveling With Army-Grade Bandages
Although Swift never felt the need to make a bulletproof gameday entrance before Sunday, the public figure has realized the need to be hyper-aware of her safety for a long time. The “Cardigan” singer wrote in a 2019 Elle column that the Manchester arena bombing which took place after an Ariana Grande concert in 2017 left her “terrified to go on tour.” She expressed worry for the safety of her fans as well as herself. “I didn’t know how we were going to keep 3 million fans safe over seven months,” she wrote.
Swift went on, “My fear of violence has continued into my personal life. I carry QuikClot army grade bandage dressing, which is for gunshot or stab wounds.” She said she feels the precautions are necessary due to every address she’s ever had being leaked online, as well as repeated break-in attempts.
Swift also travels in a custom-built bulletproof Mercedes Benz and employees ex-Secret Service agents as part of her security team, per the U.S. Sun.
