Taylor Swift has always been known for her secrecy when it comes to music releases, but she’s raised the bar to a whole new level with her upcoming 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” According to new reports, the superstar only allowed five people to hear the full project—her most tightly guarded release yet.
Only Five People Have Heard Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’
“Everyone, from the writers, producers, studio engineers and studio interns went through a rigorous vetting process to make sure they could be trusted,” a source told The Daily Mail. “Everyone was asked to sign ironclad NDAs and weren’t even allowed to discuss their contribution with family and friends. She really wants to keep it safe for her fans.”
Recorded in Sweden with longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback, Swift reportedly used file-tracking programs to ensure no leaks left her inner circle. Even her label had to wait to hear the finished product.
Travis Kelce Is 1 of the Lucky 5 and Claims It’s Full of ‘Bangers’
Swift’s boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, admitted he’s one of the lucky five. During her appearance on his podcast “New Heights”, Kelce revealed he’s heard every track. “I’ve been fortunate enough to hear every single song on here, so I know they’re all 12 bangers,” he said proudly. “It’s a lot more upbeat and it’s a lot more, like, fun pop excitement. I think it’s a complete 180 from a lot of the songs on ‘Tortured Poets’ for sure.”
The other four who have heard the album include Swift’s publicist Tree Paine, producers Max Martin and Shellback, and one unnamed studio engineer. The extreme secrecy, paired with Kelce’s enthusiastic endorsement, has only heightened anticipation ahead of the October 3 release.
Taylor Swift’s Variant Editions Keep Selling Out
Of course, no Swift album rollout would be complete without special editions. Variety reports that Swift has already introduced a number of limited vinyl variants, each paired with unique artwork, colors, or exclusive poems.
The latest drop, dubbed the “Tiny Bubbles in Champagne Collection,” arrived Monday afternoon with two vinyl options. Both sold out quickly, as fans rushed to secure copies before they vanished. Each edition featured a different back cover design and a new poem titled “Tiny Bubbles in Champagne.”
Every variant so far has been announced with a countdown clock and limited to 48 hours or “while supplies last.” Most have sold out within an hour, underscoring Swift’s unmatched ability to drive demand and keep her fans on their toes.
