The movie, a comedy-drama, centers on an unhappy housewife, Evelyn, who meets Ninny, an elderly woman who helps her change her outlook on life. “Fried Green Tomatoes” spans two timelines: the 1980s and the 1920s and 30s.

People in search of a quality war drama should watch the 1989 classic “Glory.” Directed by Edward Zwick, “Glory” stars screen titans such as Matthew Broderick, Denzel Washington, Cary Elwes, and Morgan Freeman.

It centers on the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, one of the Union’s first official African American regiments during the American Civil War. The movie received high praise from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds an impressive 95% from critics. Audiences gave “Glory” a 93%.

The film won three Academy Awards in 1990, including Washington for Best Supporting Actor. It will be leaving Netflix on May 31.


‘Tootsie’ Is Also on the Platform
