“Saturday Night Live” star Colin Jost is heading to Netflix!
Colin Jost Confirmed for New Netflix Role
Longtime “Saturday Night Live” star Colin Jost secured a deal with Netflix to host the upcoming season of “Pop Culture Jeopardy!”, according to Deadline.
While Jost hosted the first season of the game show spinoff for Amazon Prime, the show got picked up for a second season by Netflix in October.
“Pop Culture Jeopardy! captivated an audience with its fun and energetic gameplay, building on the beloved franchise and offering fans an opportunity to test their zeitgeist knowledge,” the president of game shows at Sony Pictures Television, Suzanne Prete, said in a statement at the time, according to PopCulture.com. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be partnering with the exemplary team at Netflix to bring more episodes to our passionate and loyal viewers.”
Similar to the iconic question-and-answer game show, “Pop Culture Jeopardy!” sees three teams of three players each compete in a tournament-style competition with topics ranging from TV, music, movies and social media. The first season, which launched in December 2024, saw the winning team take home a $300,000 grand prize.
“Did you miss us? A new season of Pop Culture Jeopardy! is coming to @netflix in 2026 ☺️💙” the show’s official Instagram profile captioned a photo of the host on Friday, January 23.

Colin Jost Will Remain on “Saturday Night Live”
Jost has become a fixture of the weekly sketch comedy series since joining as a writer in 2005.
After it was announced in 2013 that Seth Meyers would be leaving the show after landing his own late-night hosting gig with “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” Jost was tapped to step into the “Weekend Update” segment, according to The Hollywood Reporter. As of October 2023, Jost became the longest-running host of that beloved segment.
In addition to “Saturday Night Live” and “Pop Culture Jeopardy!”, Jost has a lengthy list of credits, including hosting the Primetime Emmy Awards in 2018 and the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in 2024.
