NBC Previously Announced the Additions for ‘Saturday Night Live’ Season 51
Following a swarm of exits from “Saturday Night Live” ahead of season 51, many fans were wondering who would be added to the cast. They received their answer on September 2 when the newcomers were confirmed for the show.
According to PEOPLE, they include actress and comedian Veronika Slowikowska, comedian Kam Patterson, and Ben Marshall from “Please Don’t Destroy.” Tommy Brennan and Jeremy Culhane will round out the newbies.
Regarding the exits, both Devon Walker and Emil Wakim were the first to announce their exits from the series in August. Then came announcements from Michael Longfellow and Heidi Gardner later that month.
Longfellow wrote on Instagram, “Will not be returning for a 4th season at SNL. Wish I was, but so it goes. It was the best three years of my life so far. I feel nothing but gratitude for the experience and everyone there.”
Later, John Higgins announced that he would not be returning to “Saturday Night Live” for season 51. He will now focus on his acting career. It’s also important to note that some writers are leaving the beloved series. They include Celeste Yim and Rosebud Baker.”
