Back in April 2026, Grammy-nominated songstress and former Disney princess (The Little Mermaid) Halle Balle teamed up with former Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page for a romantic comedy that took the duo around the world to Italy. The European country is often thought to be a place of love and passion (in addition to a foodie’s paradise), and the movie definitely leans into Italy’s reputation. While the critics were fairly mixed in their reviews of the project, your “average” moviegoers were big fans. Now, if you haven’t seen it, you’ll have the opportunity to do so, as it’s now streaming on Peacock for subscribers.
‘You, Me & Tuscany’ Is Now Streaming on Peacock
GettyYou, Me & Tuscany may not have made as big of a splash at the box office as some may have hoped for, but that’s not because it’s not an entertaining rom-com. From super producer Will Packer (Girls Trip), written by Ryan Engle, and directed by Kat Coiro, the movie follows Halle Bailey’s Anna. She has abandoned her dreams of becoming a world-renowned chef and finds herself on a journey of self-exploration, which is littered with some bad choices.
However, after a chance encounter with an Italian stranger, Matteo (Lorenzo de Moor), who happens to have an Italian villa, she ventures off to Tuscany to stay in it. Unfortunately for her, things go awry when Matteo’s mother shows up, leaving Anna to pretend to be his fiancée. And if this wasn’t chaotic enough, she falls in love with Matteo’s cousin, Regé-Jean Page’s Michael. Check out a trailer for the movie below.
Critics Were Mixed, but Fans Fell in Love
You, Me & Tuscany again caused critics to be a bit split, reflected in its 65% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes. Beatrice Loayza wrote for the New York Times, “Arguably, throwing us into wild fantasies are what rom-coms are for, and letting a Black woman do the honors of being swept away by her European reveries makes for an intriguing update to the genre.” Kristy Puchko with Mashable was also complimentary, noting, “You, Me & Tuscany will be loved by rom-com fans for its sincere appreciation of the subgenre.”
Now, Zachary Barnes with The Wall Street Journal harshly stated, “A rom-com that, though by no means good, is also not the most abominable thing to play the multiplex lately. So call this a rueful thumbs down.”
Critics aside, moviegoers were very generous in their opinion of the movie. The Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes is 92%, and that’s comprised of audience feedback. Not for nothing, this is hardly the first time that there’s a wide gap between critic and audience scores. Heck, just look at the disparity when it comes to the Michael Jackson biopic, Michael.
That being said, the best way to know if You, Me & Tuscany is a great watch is to check it out for yourself. Again, it’s now streaming on Peacock.
