‘Stranger Things 5’ Trailer Arrives as Netflix Sets Stage for Final Season

Netflix released the final trailer for “Stranger Things” season 5 on Sunday, confirming that the series has entered the last phase of promotion before the long-awaited final season begins. The trailer gives the most complete look yet at how the story of Hawkins will end as the show enters its final chapter.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that Netflix identified this as the final trailer for the series, following earlier teasers and a shorter Super Bowl spot. The release signals that the countdown to the series finale is officially underway.

Final Trailer Shows Hawkins Under Siege

The final trailer opens in the fall of 1987 as Hawkins faces the aftermath of the Rifts that tore through the town during Season 4. According to Netflix’s Tudum site, military forces have locked down the area while residents navigate an environment overrun by the Upside Down.

The footage shows the original group reuniting as they prepare for a final confrontation with Vecna. Millie Bobby Brown’s character, Eleven, appears in a heightened combat state as she moves toward what seems to be her last battle.

Netflix’s Tudum recap notes one moment in which Dustin says he wants to see Vecna’s heart “on a platter.” The line reflects a more urgent and emotional shift as the characters prepare for the final fight of their long conflict.

Duffer Brothers Build Toward a True Finale

Ross Duffer told Netflix’s Tudum that the final season does not ease viewers in with normal life in Hawkins. Instead, he said the story begins at full speed, which matches the urgency of the narrative arc.

The Hollywood Reporter wrote that the final trailer supports the Duffers’ plan to structure Season 5 as a single, continuous story rather than a more traditional episodic format. Scenes showing large-scale action, collapsing environments and characters moving through portals indicate that the final season aims for a more cinematic tone.

Release Dates

Netflix will release the final season in three parts. According to Tudum, Episodes 1 through 4 premiere Nov. 26, Episodes 5 through 7 drop Dec. 25 and the series finale arrives Dec. 31. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the final episode will receive a limited theatrical release in North America.

By branding this preview as the final trailer, Netflix makes the message clear. The supernatural mystery that began in 2016 is reaching its last chapter. With Hawkins on the edge of collapse and the cast preparing for one last stand, the final journey into the Upside Down has officially begun.
