‘Outer Banks’ Star Chase Stokes Hints at Being Blocked After Split With Kelsea Ballerini

Outer Banks” star Chase Stokes is publicly addressing his split from “The Voice” former coach Kelsea Ballerini, posting cryptic Instagram Stories that suggest the former couple’s relationship has unraveled again and that he feels shut out of her life.

Stokes wrote in a Story that he is “blocked” and urged followers not to “believe the media,” according to Page Six. He also apologized to fans who supported the relationship, saying he “tried.” The posts appeared as speculation intensified over whether he and the country singer had ended their reconciliation.

The messages arrive only weeks after Stokes and Ballerini appeared to get back together following a September breakup. Their on-and-off dynamic has kept fans guessing for months, but Stokes’s recent comments indicate the relationship may have fractured again.

Ballerini Reportedly Believed Stokes “Was the One”

Before the couple’s latest split, Ballerini believed Stokes “was the one,” according to Us Weekly. A source told the outlet the singer viewed their relationship as serious and long-term, especially after opening herself up emotionally following her divorce.

Their first breakup in September came as a surprise to fans, as the pair had appeared steady for much of 2025. Us Weekly reported that Ballerini hoped their communication struggles would improve, but the tension resurfaced over the summer.

Even after the initial breakup, the two continued to spend time together in Europe. Elle reported that Stokes and Ballerini were seen holding hands in Croatia, which prompted insiders to believe they were attempting to resolve lingering issues.

Why the Relationship Ended Again

Elle reported that the reconciliation did not last because deeper conflicts resurfaced. According to the magazine, friends close to the pair described the relationship as rocky. They said trust issues and emotional strain created ongoing challenges.

USA Today reported that although Stokes did not mention Ballerini by name in his posts, the timing fueled speculation that communication between them had broken down again. Stokes’s claim that he was blocked only added to the confusion.

Page Six reported that Stokes removed the posts shortly after sharing them. This raised questions about whether he regretted making the statements public or wanted to pull back from the attention.

As of Thursday, neither Stokes nor Ballerini has issued any additional public comments. Their teams have not responded to requests for clarification.

The “Outer Banks” star’s messages suggest that the couple’s second attempt at a relationship may have ended, despite earlier optimism from those close to them.
