3 Peacock Shows Won’t Return, Including Hit Franchise Spinoff

Peacock is pulling the plug on three shows, including a popular spinoff from a hit franchise. The cancellations come as the streamer made some changes to its lineup, leaving fans of the affected series with no new seasons to look forward to. Here’s a look at the three shows that are canceled.

‘Ponies’

Peacock has opted not to renew the 1970s espionage thriller “Ponies,” starring Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson, for a second season.

The decision comes five months after the series premiered on January 15. According to Deadline, the cancellation does not come as a surprise, as the show failed to attract enough viewers to justify a renewal.

One of the series’ executive producers, David Iserson, shared his reaction to the show’s cancellation, choosing to focus on the positive side of the experience.

“I still believe that trying to make the kind of thing that is hard to make in this business – for us, a period show with two female leads and an unusual tone – is worth it,” Iserson wrote in part on Instagram. “Goodbye to Bea and Twila for now. I hope we all get to visit them again.”

‘The Copenhagen Test’

Peacock is also not renewing “The Copenhagen Test” for a second season, according to Variety. The espionage thriller, starring Simu Liu, premiered its eight-episode first season on December 27, 2025.

Along with Liu, other cast members include Melissa Barrera, Sinclair Daniel, Brian D’Arcy James, Mark O’Brien, and Kathleen Chalfant.

“This espionage thriller series follows first-generation Chinese-American intelligence analyst Alexander Hale (Simu Liu) who realizes his brain has been hacked, giving the perpetrators access to everything he sees and hears. Caught between his shadowy agency and the unknown hackers, he must maintain a performance 24/7 to flush out who’s responsible and prove where his allegiance lies,” the show’s logline reads.

‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’

“Law & Order: Organized Crime” has been canceled after five seasons. The spinoff, which stars Christopher Meloni, aired its first four seasons on NBC before moving to Peacock.

In February, reports suggested the series still had a chance, with Peacock making a soft outreach to find a new showrunner. However, those efforts ultimately failed to materialize, according to Deadline.

In April, Meloni addressed the show’s cancellation on Instagram. The actor appeared to hold back tears as he thanked fans who “helped give the character of Elliot Stabler life and longevity” and for “sticking with him and welcoming him back.”

“It was a good ride. I had a great time playing him,” the actor continued. “It was a great ride. But thank you. You helped give me a career that I never dreamed of. Nearly 17 odd years.”

Fans quickly showed their support for the actor following the show’s cancellation.

Someone wrote, “Thank you, Chris Meloni. Two generations of my family watched Elliot and loved it! I’m sure something wonderful is coming your way!”

A fan commented, “This was the best part of Thursday evening! Should have been continued!”

Another chimed in, “I hope you’re going back to SVU because Olivia needs Stabler.
