Following the tragic passing of Hayden Panettiere, Hollywood paid tribute to the actress, with many who worked with her sharing photos and heartfelt memories of their time with the 36-year-old. And that included Kim Cattrall, who played the mother of Panettiere’s character in Disney’s 2005 cult-classic film Ice Princess.
The Sex and the City alum posted a picture of herself and Panettiere from the 2005 Disney movie, writing, “Rest in peace, sweet Hayden. Gone far too soon 💔.”
Panettiere died on Sunday, Aug. 16 , with emergency personnel responding to a report of an “unresponsive female” around 1:50 p.m. local time. Specifically, they received a 911 call from a friend of Panettiere.
“Upon arrival, medical assistance was administered; however, the individual, later identified as Hayden Panettiere, was pronounced deceased at the scene,” a spokesperson for the Greenville Police Department said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. “The case is under investigation by the Greenville Police Department in conjunction with the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. The preliminary investigation has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. An acquaintance of Ms. Panettiere placed the 911 call.”

In the movie Ice Princess, stars include Panettiere as well as Michelle Trachtenberg, who passed away young in February 2025. The story follows Casey Carlyle, played by Trachtenberg, who scores a Harvard scholarship and has a chance to pursue her dream career as a professional figure skater. There, she meets Panetierre’s Gennifer “Gen” Harwood, who was also the daughter of the head coach. The two begin as rivals, but become friends in the heartwarming movie.
Following Panettiere’s passing, as well as Cattrall’s post, fans remember her performance in the movie.

Michelle Trachtenberg Passed Away in February 2025
Michelle Trachtenberg, who also starred alongside Panettiere, died in February 2025 at the age of 39 due to complications from a liver transplant.
She was found dead in a New York City luxury apartment building at 8 a.m. on Feb. 26, 2025, a spokesperson for the New York Police Department previously confirmed to USA TODAY, adding that the exact manner of death was complications of diabetes mellitus and was determined to be natural.
Alexa PenaVega remembered Panettiere alongside Trachtenberg and Daveigh Chase, who were also young actresses.
“Hayden, Michelle, Daveigh… my heart is heavy today,” PenaVega wrote on Instagram. “These aren’t just names from my childhood. They’re girls I grew up alongside, sharing a world that was exciting and also incredibly hard.”
