Bert Kreischer Reveals How His Team Narrowly Avoided Bus Fire
GettyLater that day, Kreischer told People that his team narrowly avoided being on the bus when the fire broke out.
He explained that the trouble began shortly after midnight following their show in North Dakota, when the tour bus’s front right tire suddenly blew out while traveling along Interstate 94.
“It was a fluke accident,” Kreischer said. “We hit nothing, and it was no fault of the driver’s. We waited outside for a couple of hours.”
After waiting on the roadside, the crew decided to leave the damaged bus behind and continue the trip using two other crew buses while repairs were arranged.
According to Kreischer, the situation escalated hours later. Around 11 a.m. Sunday morning, the driver who had remained with the vehicle heard a loud pop coming from the roof.
“Within a matter of seconds, the bus was filled with smoke,” Kreischer said. The driver quickly got out, but the vehicle went “up in flames” before he could return to see what had happened.
