Social media influencer Emilie Kiser made her first TikTok video after the tragic passing of her three year old son, Trigg, in May due to an accidental drowning.
In the video shared on September 20, Kiser is seen making coffee before she sits down to address her fans.
“Hi, you guys. Don’t even know what to say. I’m going to be honest, it’s been a minute since I’ve obviously come on here. I’m not gonna lie, I’m really nervous right now. I don’t really know if there’s any right way to start this video, but I’m going to do my best,” she says.
Kiser tells viewers that she had missed connecting with them over the months. “I know that might sound silly to a lot of people, but I really do love this community that we have here,” the influencer shares.
She adds, “I hope that in coming back and sharing what I choose to, I can reconnect with you guys and, hopefully, help anyone going through a similar situation.”
The 26-year-old says that she didn’t want to appear “fine and dandy” after her son’s drowning, but that connecting with fans feels “therapeutic” to her.
Moving forward, Kiser doesn’t know what her content will look like, and expressed hesitancy about sharing too much of her personal life.
“If you are going through anything similar, I just want to say that I love you, and I’m here for you. And I understand how hard it is,” Kiser says.
Kiser Spoke Out for the First Time in August Since Tragedy
In her first statement since Trigg’s death, Kiser wrote, “Loss of this magnitude feels impossible to put into words. I’ve spent days, weeks, months trying to find them and also take the time I’ve needed to digest the loss of my baby.”
“Trigg is our baby and our best friend. The light and spirit he brought into this world was bright, pure, joyful, and undeniable. We miss him every second of every day and continuing forward often feels unbearable,” Kiser shared.
The TikTok star thanked her family and followers for their support, and said, “I’ve done my best to keep picking myself up.”
“In the future, I hope to be in a place to share more about how I am navigating this grief, but right now, all I can say is thank you for the love, compassion, patience, and space you’ve given us to grieve. I am more grateful for it than can ever be expressed,” Kiser concluded.
Fans Showered Kiser with Love & Support
Kiser often shared glimpses into her family life on social media, and one of her last videos of Trigg prompted followers to offer words of support.
“Trigg’s sweet little voice. Wish so much that I could turn back time for you and change what happened, truly,” a fan wrote.
Another offered, “My whole heart. I am soo unbelievably sorry. My heart is in shreds for the loss of your sweet boy. Reminds me so much of my boy when he was little. Just a whole sweety pie. Im so sorry about everything [you’re] dealing with.”
