The family of Guy Moon, an acclaimed music composer who worked on several popular television series including Nickelodeon‘s “The Fairly OddParents,” announced on Facebook that he was killed in a car accident. The statement was shared on Moon’s own page on Saturday, January 10.
The statement reads:
“We are overcome with grief to announce the passing of our beloved patriarch, Guy Moon. He was killed on Thursday morning in a traffic collision.
We feel singularly blessed to have been able to call him dad and husband. As we stand together at the base of what seems to be an insurmountable grief, we are emboldened to grieve him with honor and courage with the tools that he equipped us with in his beautiful life. He has left an unmistakable legacy, and will be profoundly missed by us, his family, and countless others whose lives he impacted.
We are tentatively planning to celebrate his life on his birthday, February 7th, in the Los Angeles area, and again sometime after in his hometown in Wisconsin. We will make details available as we plan.
Together we remain,
The Moon Family”
Guy’s Facebook page shows that he celebrated his 40th wedding anniversary 6 months before his death. He wrote in a celebratory post, “40 years today with this hottie” alongside a picture of his wife, Jenny Moon.

They called Guy “such an important role model for me” before going on, “Although we haven’t been in touch much over the years, you will always feel like family to me. I have faith that Guy lives on in your hearts always, and a little piece of him also lives on in every heart he touched. I feel so lucky to have been one of those.”
Someone else said, “Stunned, so sorry to hear of this. I will miss our calls, his always positive sense of humor and infectious laughter.
